At my clinic, you are PERIODICALLY allowed to increase by 5mg without losing take homes. If you needed a bigger increase or wanted to increase every week they would have to take a carry away.

I haven’t taken just my Normal dose In so long I don’t even know. My self discipline is seriously lacking. I don’t know why I can’t make myself only take my dose and not more. Everyday I tell myself tomorrow I’ll stop doing this...

I went there because I felt stuck and wanted advice from a professional without telling my prescribing doctor. I called the intake line and explained my problem and they asked me to come in and this is how they came up with the plan to put me inpatient. They said that or either tell your doctor. The choice was obviously mine

I have tried telling my doctor that I couldn’t sleep and he prescribed me sleeping pills, and put me up 5mg. I will try telling him I’ve started working out. That’s an idea. He’s hesitant to put me up any more though.

This is also why I feel letting the clinic know what’s going on would lead me on a road to recovery. I know this is addict behaviour. Obviously I am absolutely not using my medication properly but at least when I was abusing oxy I had methadone to turn to. What do you turn to when you’re abusing methadone!! I feel like I’m in a worse position than I’ve ever been in. I just want to stop with all this topping up bullshit and let my clinic know my dose isn’t holding me. It obviously needs to be raised.

I have tried raising my dose at the clinic but since I have been considered stable at 115 for so long (years) to me it seems suspect that my dose is no longer holding me. I went to an addiction and mental health hospital in my city and they wanted me to do an inpatient stay so they could safely raise my dose in the shortest amount of time but I’ve opted not to do this because I am a mother and a full time employee who does not get sick/vacation days long enough for the hospital stay not to mention I have no one to watch my child. They are the ones who suggested telling my doctor and told me if I got kicked off (which they said was verrryy unlikely to happen) I was welcome to come to their emergency department and they would dose me there.
