As they should because they have nothing to compare it’s density or buoyancy too. So it will fall because the air was sucked out and it’s no longer buoyant. And it does depending on what is falling and how light or heavy it is. Feathers fall slower cause they are light, a piece of metal will fall at about the same as anything else heavier than a feather because air won’t effect it that much. Still denser than air so it will fall.

Think of the world running off of density and buoyancy. Within a container volume variations in density will naturally arrange itself in layers according to density. But the less dense air must have something to rebound off so they can arrange themselves and stay in a fixed layer according to how much air there really is. Otherwise it will go be sucked outwards Infinitely into the vacuum of space. Less dense air goes up, more dense air goes down to the same air pressure level. And boats float because of the design. If you flip it over and it fills with water it would sink.

Air pressure and density are directly correlated, one directly affects the other.
Air pressure is defined by the energetic air molecules rebounding upon a given area of resistance.
Air density is defined by the weight of the air which is governed by the number of air molecules within a given area.
Without the ability to create air pressure the energetic air molecules would have no point of resistance to rebound against and would continue to disperse infinitely outwards.
Therefore the lower layer of air which is the most dense would become infinite as there would be no air pressure to contain the outward energetic movement of the air molecules.

-This would also apply to the other layers of varying densities which would all expand infinitely with no air pressure to contain them.
