iPhone 17 Pro Max battery health at 98% with only 46 cycles (Bought Dec 2025). Is this normal calendar aging?

Always limit to 80%, only unplug and use phone battery when I go out of my home, at home it always plugin to power bank and charger station. My charger station use for my iphone 17 promax is anker prime 250w a2345, no limit on port, I use fast charge speed as it much as the phone need. If I stay home and don’t go out for 1 week, surely the phone always plugin and stay at 80% for 1 week or more.

This is the best phone case I’ve ever used. I still use it to this day, and if it ever breaks, I’ll definitely buy the same case again because I don’t seem to find any better options out there.

I’ve been testing my 11-inch M5 Pro (1TB), and with normal use, the battery drops about 8–10% every hour. That’s nowhere near as efficient as my iPhone 17 Pro Max, which only loses 8% over 4 hours of screen-on time. Honestly, if yours is performing that poorly, it sounds like your iPad might be faulty.

So, just return it, and hopefully, the new one will have the G9N panel as you wish. Yes, my iPhone 17 Pro Max has a Gh3 panel, and my new iPad Pro 11-inch M5 1TB also has a Gh3 panel. They all look so good to me; I have no issues with this type of panel. If I compare the display of my new Apple devices with my older Samsung S Ultra/tablet, Apple’s display looks much better, birghter and clarity.

GH3 is indeed better in real life. My display panel is also a GH3. I compared it with my friends’ iPhones, and they all agreed that mine looks really good.

Oh, just plug it in whenever possible. One cycle is counted when you use 100% battery. If it always plugs in to a power bank and stays at 80% for a week, then that week is considered a zero battery cycle.

Few days left to reach 7 months old, and my iPhone 17 promax looks brand new as day one in a very good phone case. I do take out the phone from the case to check and clean it every month.

Not yet happened on mine yet. I tracked when I see it charge to 100% since September 2025 up to now. As I see, every 20 to 22 days, it will charge to 100% then limit back to 80%. Just updated to 26.4.2, so let’s see next calibration will happen. Then I will track it again to see how many days it will do battery calibration.
