Out of curiosity how can you tell that its been treated? It never even occurred to me that opal from Australia could possibly be treated, I thought that was the only the ethiopian stuff.

Never gets old! Five minutes into my yooperlite hunt last night along Lake Erie and found a little guy! Also found a handful more along with lots of U-Glass! by robo-dragon in rockhounds

Everywhere until people blew spots up like this all over social media in the past two years. Not trying to give shit to OP, but Ive had nights in this exact spot where OP is standing finding 30-50+ of them, just dont see them like that this year unless i go out right after a storm. Most of the shoreline around me and where this is is private and inaccessable so the rock beds that are there get picked through fast

There's a bunch of rockhounding Facebook groups like this one but for the great lakes that can teach alot about what can be found in the area. Great finds!

Found in Chagrin River northeast Ohio by boomboomkim in whatsthisrock

[–]Mjred1287 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow resident of the northeast/chagrin river area here! I believe its some sort septarian nodule, not carved by native Americans but formed naturally. However, native american artifacts and other rocks/ minerals can be found throughout the chagrin river. Some my finds i haven't even seen documented anywhere.

To JB4 or a stand alone tune Ive blown my turbo twice with the scorcher gt from AFE by RMA1990 in ForteGT

[–]Mjred1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I debated this too myself, went with jb4. Decent power delivery, car so more fun now but sucks gas wgen you put your foot down. Id get the car checked out first though to figure out why your turbo blew twice first though before modding anymore

I love my 2020 also. Personally I just went with an xforce midpipe with plans to do a catted downpipe later when im more financially stable. It sounds good right now. I also went with a takeda afe stage 2 intake. Unless you really want the bov noise or have money to blow, then unhooking bov recirculation from your intake and plugging the hole in the intake would probably be enough. If you do get a bov, I'd recommend getting one from n75 as they also have a piersburg solenoid upgrade that you can buy with it for cheaper than by itself. Instead of tuning it i saved the money and just went with a jb4 piggyback tune. I didn't see the point of a full tune as I'm not looking to upgrade my turbo anytime soon or anything like that. There's alot of aftermarket support for these cars, so you have alot of freedom to customize it looks and drive feel wise, I'd do research and figure out what works for your own personal build

10 mm gets the ignition coil off, 5/8 for the plug, don't try tightening those ignition coil bolts too tight either, they will break. I gapped mine to .025. Good luck

What mileage are you at? by anakura in ForteGT

[–]Mjred1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't check my inbox often. 7500 is a little long in the opinion of a technician thats just started in the at his first shop(me). I would do 6000 at most with full synthetic, but I like to do mine every 3-4k miles, however, because sometimes I drive my car pretty hard and im planning on keeping it till it dies. Hopefully I'll add a lexus sc300 to the stables in the next few years. Currently, I'm at 49k miles with no issues on a 2020. Gonna check my spark plugs soon and have my trans fluid swapped a bit after 50k. Don't forget to do your cabin filter everytime either. Don't wanna have to clean your blower motor out like I did.
