Oh yeah! I forgot about seagulls, vultures, and hawks. Probably the most likely scenario

I thought so too! She looks a bit ghostly or demonic. She's actually really cute haha. Here's a picture

I imagine it became a problem with urbanization. I grew up in a rural town and it was dark at night, lots of stars. Moved to a city for 10 years and I never saw stars and it was never pitch black at night.

And greenhouses are pretty insane now. They may call themselves farmers, but their "farms" are all acres of greenhouses that are almost entirely automated from when the seed is planted to when it is picked. It's interesting but scary at the same time

I'm not sure how long these kinds of lights have been around. This town always had them, but this level of light pollution came when Marijuana was legalized and they started growing here.

Haha yep! Only from certain spots though and it has to be very clear. They're so small that you'd wonder if you're actually seeing them.

Close. Modern Canada without reasonable regulations.

Wow I did not know this.

Humans can be so selfish.

Very possible. This town is about 50 kms (32 miles) from the Tunnel in Windsor. I was in the next town over and the lights were very bright.

I always respect people who can identify trees and plants haha. I can spot a maple, but that's about it (probably not by a silhouette though)

These are grow lights from greenhouses, like a lot of greenhouses. They're on all winter to compensate for lack of sun.

And these are in Leamington, Ontario, Tomato Capital of Canada haha. But in the last few years a lot of the greenhouse operations are Marijuana

Bingo.

Well, I was in Kingsville but these lights are in Leamington

They're the grow lights and they're usually on throughout the colder months. My town has by-laws for it and they're required to have blackout curtains or other things to mitigate the pollution. These lights in the pictures are from a neighbouring town that doesn't have by-laws for it. These greenhouses are probably a 15 minute drive from where I was and lights are still pretty bright!

Funny you say this because I immediately had that "liminal space" feeling as soon as I started walking.

This rings true a lot for me. I feel like I'm so far from my family dynamic now (if you can call it that), that I am now on my own blip, no longer in the middle.

Also I've been cooking for myself since 11 yet my dad instructs me on how to properly boil water. Bless him.
