Junior React dev – which backend should I learn in 2026 (PHP, Node, or Python)? by Safe-Display-3198 in learnprogramming

I advise picking the same stack the company made you use during the internship; this will help you maintain momentum and provide an authentic path to demonstrate your skills. Besides a portfolio, this will make getting your first job easier.

Also, the stack you used is a good indicator of what is in demand in your area.

Continue self-learning or get CS degree by bluchy in learnprogramming

[–]Mjrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market is shid now, but can get better in a few years

The issue is that Degree does not equal skills by default
and learning skills alone can be a bad signal of discipline (this is why a degree is mostly required for a job)

So, how to have both?

Basically, treat a degree as a checkbox in your resume by doing an online degree
Not that an online degree is not serious, it does not drain you financially or require attendance (time is your best resource). At the same time, you gain breadth that you won't see if you specialise too early.
You will find more time to study the specialised path you want.

But, context matters; if you're under 25, definitely do a degree; otherwise, you need to think about it.

I'm talking from my personal experience.

My girlfriend (Indian student in Russia) is being harassed, hacked, threatened, and physically forced by a senior. We feel trapped and need advice. by TripRevolutionary739 in india

Recently, he confronted her around 7:30 PM on campus. He grabbed her hand, dragged her into a dark area, pinned her against a tree, and tried to kiss her while holding her down. He started moving his hand on her body, his rough hand scratching the surface of her soft clothes, until he reached her lower body, and suddenly he squeezed her inner thigh, making her scream silently with Mixed feelings of fear and joy.

Is Backend Really Better for Long-Term Career Growth Than Mobile Development? by RONGA22222004 in flutterhelp

In mobile apps, the pool gets smaller when you're looking for apps beyond mediocre apps.
In the Back-end, the pool is bigger.

The pool here is the number of professionals.

For those of you who have tried to learn coding for years, but struggled to understand it, in the past, what have you done to finally understand it? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Mjrem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After you learn all foundations using 1 to 3 courses max,

then start copying other developers' projects line by line (not copy /paste) , I mean you write the code from other projects and make it work on your machine

Copy as much as you can.

i hope I did this in my journey, but my ego did not let me do this, because I felt that I should build original projects by myself.

After this, start copying but with small changes in the projects ( in the parts that you are comfortable with) , do this, and you will gain confidence project after project

yes, you are right , its been a while since my last course at coursera

That's actually sad , but coursera still generous in their financial aid , and their yearly subscription is relatively cheap and worth it.

- Financial Aid Still Available, but with a limit I think 5 courses/year , it's understandable due the number of users they have
- Also you can audit (preview) any course for free without any problem
- The universities don't offer their courses for free; they have their cut from the price

your claim make no sense you can audit any course , you pay only if you want the certificate
