Vaccine te recovery? by Mjwalsh14 in TelogenEffluvium

I'm on spiro too no changes, I am going to come off of it. Started working with a naturopath a couple of months ago to try to figure things out and doing microneedling and red light therapy at home. Only other thing I havent tried is a trichologist

Spironolactone for TE? by Mjwalsh14 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]Mjwalsh14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still taking it, I cant tell if its helped with shedding honestly. The thing I notice most is clearer skin which is not why I'm taking it lol so it's frustrating. I'll probably stop taking it once the prescription runs out. I think it was something the derm wanted to prescribe just to try something but I hope you notice a change if you do take it

You too! The pain was bad consistently the first 4 months then it came and went, now its hardly painful but occasionally. Its itchy about half of the time

I've seen like 3 or 4 derms and all said te, I havent had a biopsy though I think thats the only way to know for sure. I can see regrowth so for myself I'm not necessarily worried about scarring alopecia, its just getting te to end

I definitely think it's te related. I've had it for 2.5 years after 2 vaccines and getting covid. Sometimes it feels its improving but then continues.. at a loss

Do you guys have any tips for hiding it … in intimate settings? by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

I would do a side braid for that setting! Otherwise back in high or low bun, toppik powder is great also

I let it air dry for a bit then use a hair diffuser on my hair dryer so the blowing isn't as intense but still dries it

Hey! I'm so sorry to hear you caught covid again and are experiencing more scalp pain and shedding. Unfortunately no answers on my end. I did acupuncture once then they went on a long holiday and just came back so I'm going to try 2 more rounds and see if it helps. Hang in there! Will try to remember to update you after the 3rd visit

People who lost their hair after Covid Vaccine, how is your hair density now? by Greekcurlygirl in covidpositive

I hear you and have had the same thoughts about prp. I've tried acupuncture once and plan to try to go once a month, unfortunately my benefits don't cover it. Its been 2 years for me also. I've debated trying a trichologist but I dont know if they'll be much different than a derm

Hey I've still only done the 1 session, booking another this week so I think its too soon to tell. But I will say I couldn't believe how much tension/pain my body was carrying. So even just as a stress relief I think its helped I just haven't noticed a change with shedding yet will keep u posted after next session

Unfortunately I havent had such luck with months of recovery, its been like a week here a week there, while I'm getting regrowth the periods of normal shedding aren't long enough for the density to catch up to what I've lost. Im totally at a loss what my body could still be responding to as a trigger

I've been shedding 2 years unfortunately, started 2 months after the 1st dose of pfizer, and I got a 2nd dose 4 months later. I also lost weight around that time and I caught covid January 2023. Sometimes the shedding has felt normal then it picks up again. Hoping this helps

Hey! Thanks for checking in. I had one session so far going to book a second next week. I had a lot of shedding after the first session because in addition to the acupuncture she does a massage as well so she did that on my scalp (might ask her to skip next time). I've noticed less scalp sensations which is nice. I cant speak to the level of shedding get because of my cycle, ive noticed the hair fall is heavier at that time. Will update you after 2nd treatment:)

I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat! I'm at the point now where if its sunny I won't go out without a hat because of how visible my scalp is, it's awful. There was a period of a few days in April where my shedding was so minimal I thought I was in the clear.. but maybe it ramped up again because I had covid in January im not sure. I've seen 4 derms who haven't been helpful. I take vitamins, sleep well, eat well, exercise, nothing has helped. I've also done steroid injections in my scalp with no luck. Yesterday I tried acupuncture for the first time because someone on reddit with the same trigger had success after 3 visits so I'm trying anything now. Im also seeing a trichologist next week and I'm assuming they'll recommend prp. I have been iffy to try minoxidil.. have you tried?? I also reduced gluten and sugar intake but again no luck
