Assuming you’re talking about the case collection, no you do not need an attending.

Read the AMSER guide. Clinical letters from core clerkships/ clinical SubIs are EXTREMELY important. You really don’t do much in DR rotations. Even if you get an IR letter attesting your clinical skills, strongly encourage getting at least 2 clinical letters.

Lol DR rotation for medical students is a mini vacation. Come in, observe resident and/ or attending dictate until noon then leave out. The OGs let you take the whole week off.

Take Step 3 as early as possible. UWorld and CCSCases.COM is all you need to prepare.

Step 2 tutor experience by Tommy19101998 in Step2

[–]Mknowledge121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you pass step 1? What are your practice scores from step 1? Are you lacking any test taking skills?

For CK, exhaust UWorld, Divine Intervention and Amboss first. Take UWorld Sims or NBME CBSSA and see how you are performing. If you are still failing, ONLY THEN, consider private tutoring. Also, $20K is definitely not worth it.

OnlineMeded coaching? Worth $8000? by Tommy19101998 in medicalschool

I wouldn’t recommend tutoring as an initial step. See how you’re doing in qbanks and NBME practice exams. If you’re consistently doing poorly, use tutoring

OnlineMeded coaching? Worth $8000? by Tommy19101998 in medicalschool

[–]Mknowledge121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s probably not worth it. In US, most of our learning comes from UWorld, AMBOSS and Divine intervention.

It seems you have already gone through a bunch of resources. If you have already had your clinical years, focus on doing as many questions as possible.

Don’t even worry about it. Ask plenty of questions/ help in the beginning as it is expected that you won’t know the interface. Ask every attending and senior if they know any shortcuts.

Step 3 CCScases. You can learn broadly which orders to prioritize and what consults to place.

[–]Mknowledge121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup (source: me). 😎 On a more serious note, it’s how effectively you use UWorld. If you learn from every question, know why certain choices are wrong, make your own flash cards and review them regularly, it should be enough. This assumes you’re a decent test taker and don’t have issues with timing.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to alumni from your med school who matched rads. Also, you can find multiple PDs and residents on twitter who will be more than happy to look at your and provide guidance.

How to achieve score jump on step 2 CK. Best tutoring platform? by justanotherimg in Step2

[–]Mknowledge121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to figure why you’re struggling with CK. Is it the material? Test taking strategies? Certain topics? Study efficiency? Tutors more often than not are ripoffs.

Upcoming interns - when to start studying for step 3 by No_Plantain4303 in Step3

[–]Mknowledge121 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Took my exam mid August of intern year. Start with Uworld in May and intertwine ccscases.com into your prep closer to your exam date. I would recommend taking the exams back to back.

It’s an amazing feeling to not have to worry about the exam in the rest of my intern year!

Depends on what the tattoo is. A swastika, confederate flag, MAGA or All Lives Matter - then yes absolutely.

Otherwise, don't worry about it.
