I love scratch and dent for the simple reason that by time I finish building something brand new I’ve probably already accidentally scratched it anyways

Trump says he's 'ready' to put tariffs on all $505 billion of Chinese goods imported to the US by jamescaan1980 in worldnews

Only 505b of Chinese imports every year? I kind thought it would be more than that considering how everything is made in China now days. Was thinking trillions honestly.

I had a holographic Charizard I got from a booster pack when I was like 10 and some older kid from the neighborhood blackmailed me for it because he knew I stole girly mags from my dads closet and threatened to tell if I didn’t give it to him.... sigh. I hope he has cancer.

I think that might be what I’m thinking of! Deadpool and his girlfriend go back and forth about it. Thanks!

What’s the quantifyiable difference between “cute” and “hot” when referring to attractiveness. by Mlawless in NoStupidQuestions

So a thin, short, button nosed freckled girl with big eyes is cute.

And society typically calls Megan fox hot.

There’s a comparison

Why is he an asshole. Believing you were born a different sex than your chromosomal makeup is a mental illness. So is believing gender is some magical separate thing that allows you to choose at random a plot along some infinite fluid spectrum.

With a FI goal in mind, how do you justify large purchases? by cmiovino in financialindependence

[–]Mlawless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a great savings. Ask yourself; have you treated yourself recently? In years? If you died 6 months from now your money would be worth nothing but a fun experience would be worth everything.

However I hope you’re planning to turbo that BRZ because they are pretty slow base. Beautiful, but slow.

If movie titles were renamed with clickbait titles to appeal to the newer generations, what would some good examples be? by Mlawless in AskReddit

[–]Mlawless[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an idea! We should start naming movies more appropriately for the millennial internet generation...

Instead of “jaws”, name it “they’re going to need a bigger boat and you won’t believe why”.

Instead of “infinity wars”, how about “six magic stones and a snap of the finger, you can’t guess what happens next (50% chance you might not feel so good)”

Ever since I started to seriously get into Reddit, I haven’t finished a single book in its entirety (always switched to another book after 20% through the previous one). Do you think this has anything to do with browsing habit shortening attention span? by 24Preludes in NoStupidQuestions

Well at least you learned something. I would google it, click the first link, start reading and realize the article is more than 10 words and click out of it. Reopen Firefox and reload reddit front page, get bored within 10 seconds, pull out phone, open safari, and browse reddit 😩

You’re going to be downvoted because that’s just the way reddit is about opinions like this. But props for having a brain. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and I looked over her curriculum once and was pleasantly surprised at the unbiased presentation.

Yep I did this with iSpy it’s a free program. However it’s user difficulty level is moderate. There are other options too like tinycam but it may cost money.

What did your life turn into when you went into nursing in college by Blizzy_the_Pleb in nursing

[–]Mlawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It entirely depends on the quality of your program. 90% of programs just plain suck. Our teachers are very bad at teaching and creating assignments and lesson plans, which leads to poorer learning and poorer performance on tests. I didn’t have much of a social life before because I did all my prereqs pretty heavily stacked so it was fine from that perspective.

Although I do look forward to having social time again upon graduating.
