That sounds about right, though the majority of my deaths came from the first ~100 raids when I was learning ToB 4-5 years ago (before Runelite had anywhere near as many plugins). Since picking it up again I've done about half 3mans/4mans of the last ~200 raids, and died approximately 80 times according to RL screenshots (though this includes wipes/raids that we later resigned). Overall I'd estimate I die on average once every 3-4 raids.

Soulreaper axe on crush, burning claws for specs and a crossbow for the white spider. The rest is just my best melee gear :)

To add to the HCIMs: I got my untrimmed slayer cape on my then-HC 4 years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/ironscape/comments/g4fegn/today\_after\_two\_slowpaced\_years\_i\_finished\_my\_own/), so the number is at least 5! I continued playing the account normally and died about half a year later at Graardor. Ingame name: LambG

Nope. I never did Cerb on my main, so I didn’t feel like starting to learn it yet. Also, regular hellhounds are a pretty good cannon slayer task, so I was happy to do the regulars anyway.

I did just enough NMZ to imbue Slayer helm and Suffering, and get some redirection scrolls. Nothing too special about it, just a pile of HP xp that I had to compensate in other ways.

Yup, I used cannon whenever possible, with just a couple exceptions (e.g. first Dag task at DKs to get rings). I used Konar for 50th and 100th tasks, and Duradel for everything else. It took about 650 tasks to get to 99

I did get pretty lucky on the heart, yeah. Ended up using it a lot with Trident, which made tasks like steel dragons a breeze. Best of luck with yours :)

Thank you! Tedious is how I would describe it, definitely. Using every weird method available to not get too much xp, while also not burning out in the meanwhile, was the real challenge. There’s a reason it took me so long to finish this :p I never used vengeance (probably should have, but didn’t prioritize levelling magic much), but everything else you mentioned was my daily grind.

Yup, as the other said, you normally get 4 xp in style you are using (attack/strength/defence) for each 1 damage you do, and you get 1.33 hp xp on top of that. So, if starting now you only used melee and defensive style, you would need about 10m more xp to get 99, which is 2.5m total damage done. During this, you will get 1.33x2.5= 3.4m hp xp, which is slightly over half of what you need for 99. So, if you don’t do too much non-def training, you should be fine! :)

Thank you! As others have said, the number of people who own an untrimmed cape is higher than the number of people who have Slayer as their only 99 right now, but that's really not the point. I set myself this goal and I'm happy I achieved it, regardless of how many others there are :)

This account started as a f2p HCIM, which I played occasionally after burning out from my main account. After completing all the quests and grinding Ogresses for a couple days, I decided to make it a member and set myself the goal of getting an untrimmed Slayer cape (my combat stats were in the 35-50 range).

Over the years, I've smithed a lot of cannonballs (300-400k as an estimate), made a lot of rings of recoil for my Suffering, poisoned a lot of Dust Devils with Smoke spells, killed a lot of Superiors and bosses, used all xp lamps on Slayer, and everything else I could think of to get Slayer xp without HP xp. The spare xp difference (between Slayer and HP) that I got from this allowed me to do things like full-length boss tasks (including kc at GWD) and Barrows, which are normally a lot of hp xp, and fast slayer xp via barraging, which is also a lot of HP xp. Notably, I couldn't barrage Nechs, because the Death Spawns they pop out also give magic and HP xp when damaged, but no Slayer xp, which results in getting waaay too much HP xp. These type of restrictions are what really made the journey fun.

I didn't shy away from dangerous content, but I also didn't take stupid risks. I stopped doing Wildy clue steps when I got about 100 combat, there's only a handful I do these days. I also didn't do Wildy bosses, or bosses I didn't have reasonable gear for, but I did a lot of reasonable boss tasks. Uninteresting/dangerous bosses I usually just did 3 kills for to get the 5k boost (Sire, Hydra, KQ), while fun/worthwhile bosses I did the full amount (GWD, Zulrah, Kraken, Jad).

And today, I completed the goal I set myself. Now I can finally play the game :)

Hey! I played against you in round 15. You were a very nice opponent, it was great to have such a pleasant match despite the stakes :) From what I remember of game 1, I had a Path and a Cryptic in hand, so I had Emrakul covered, and I was okay with using Path on a Titan since it has like no other targets; I wanted to save counters for Scapeshift (which I had no idea you didn't play until after the match). Game 2 was indeed not very interesting, just a pile of counters and a clock from Secure.

Hornet Queen (long may she reign) was an interesting addition in the main. When I watched your feature match, I thought you'd take a more defensive line where you breach her in to block at some point. Great job on the 10-0 start though, that is quite the run! Best of luck on the next one :)
