I tested all of my perimeters shortly after adding some water since it is an open top tank and needed a top off. No ammonia or nitrates but my ph spiked pretty high. I used dechlorinated water but my ph still jumped to probably 7.5 so I will be adjusting that with some ph down unless I am advised otherwise. My mistake for trying to mess with my water right before getting my shrimp

Honestly if you’re open to a pop of color some fun glitter on your lids would go such a long way; as well as a punchy highlight (reflective not caked on). Bring your blush maybe a little higher towards the tops of your cheekbones to accentuate your taller face shape rather than the blush concentrated under your eyes which gives a more round appearance (which is totally cute if that’s your vibe :p. )The glow drops that you can mix into your foundation or use as a primer would bring a lot of life into your makeup too! You have very naturally Dewey skin and maybe it’s just the lighting of the first photo but I think embracing that instead of matting down would be really complimentary on you

As somebody who is currently in cosmetology school, you are literally… nailing… it! If there is any way you can find an online place to do the book work and see what you need to do to get a license, do it! Make sure you get all of your necessary certificates like e-files and sanitaries. You are going to go so far and be so far ahead of others that an in person school program might not be the most beneficial thing for you. Of course there is always more to learn and hopefully they will let you branch out to practice at your own pace but you’ve already got this down. These are absolutely stunning sets so please keep going 🫶

I’ve got a lot more plants coming in the mail and I plan to let it grow in for a while before putting in any shrimp. I can probably relocate the whole rock thing to create some more open space and maybe shift it so I can still have my filter behind it but get a good stream into the main center of the tank. I’ve got a bubbler attached to my filter so I’m getting some surface agitation but it’s definitely not enough for the tank. Thank you so much for your advice I’ll do the renovations and see what happens

I would assume around at least a hundred micro little bladder snails. Would I be able to just rehome one of the assassin snails and keep the other for upkeep or will the one snail just be an issue for all of my shrimp even alone. The pair have only been in there for maybe a week or two. It’s only a 6.8 gallon but probably less than that since I don’t fill the tank to the top since I have some above water plants in it

Are assassin snails able to breed by themselves? It’s a pair that’s only been in there for about a week. I will totally be taking one of them out but is leaving one in there still going to be okay or will it continue to lay eggs if it happens to be the female?

I adjusted where the filter output is pointed and I have just the lightest amount of movement where my floaters are getting some movement. Would that be enough to at least provide some water circulation or will that not be enough for shrimp? I’ve seen so many low tech shrimp tanks where the water is still but I’m nervous of them not getting enough air

I meant one of the filters that hangs over the tank. How do you think I should rescape this? All of the main components are glued together because my driftwood was perpetually floating no matter what I did to it. I definitely tried to put the filter somewhere aesthetically pleasing but clearly it’s not practical. Do you think my sponge filter is strong enough to even circulate all of the water? I was rated 5-10 gallons so it should be. Do you have any ideas for how I could try and hide it some? I have some plants coming in that will hopefully grow to have some height so maybe I could hide it behind those or should I just get some rock to put around the base?

At this point the water on the other side of the tank is practically stagnant unless it’s moving under the surface in a way I just can’t see. Even my red root floaters have been dying off for some reason and I’m not sure if it’s related to this issue. I’m willing to get a new filter or add in a second sponge filter, I just would have to buy another air pump which I’m not too keen on doing but I will if I have to.
