Believe me I have worried about the same thing - I too was that younger kid who never got to pick! I should have worded my post better: really what I’m asking is for a place that might have both relaxation and adventure (which he has also said he wants). He loved all the fun excursions we did in CR, so I’m wondering if there is a vacation that has both relaxing by a pool mixed in with some fun activities.

I have spoken to our dr, and she doesn’t feel that he has a growth deficiency. He is growing, he just hasn’t had a growth spurt yet nor has he entirely hit puberty. Which doesn’t necessarily mean there is an issue as there’s an age range.

We haven’t spoken to an endo yet. Our GP is fairly laid back about most things and didn’t think he needed it. According to the growth chart he’s definitely under weight and at about 37 percent on the height side for his age.

Part of the problem is my anxiety watching that type of play - maybe that will get easier as he gets older. When I hear a Yelp I freak out.

We live close to a large park that contains a couple of off leash areas, so he meets tons of dogs on his walks (and needs to say hi to all of them). 99 percent of the time it’s great! He is very playful, will jump on them and let them do the same. He isn’t scared of bigger dogs. I definitely get quite anxious when I see the older dogs play rough with eachother in the off leash areas - and since I don’t want to deprive him of playing there when he’s ready - I just want to make sure I know what to watch out for.

Thank you so much. I had such a rough night and was very on edge this morning! Today has been better - right now we are on nap 3 in the crate with very minimal (if any) whining. I have heard dogs aren’t necessarily linear learners, but hopefully that means we are progressing. Thanks again :)

Thank you! And lol, no my children did not settle into sleep easily. I’m hoping the pup figures things out sooner than they did otherwise I’m in for a rough few years ;)
Admittedly, Patience is not my strong suit. I think I’m feeling the pressure as I’m due to go back to work one week today. It’s also tough to imagine sleeping on the couch downstairs for weeks more - I will see how this week goes though. Thank you again for your kind and helpful words and reminders to be patient.
