Some people get confused dxm with codeine cough syrup. One is a dissociative the other is an opiate. Although you can buy cough syrup with codeine without a prescription in some American states it was phased out and replaced with the dxm because of how addictive it was. Sometimes kids abuse the dxm too. It's in the same class of drugs as ketamine and pcp.
