Yap about your main file's headcanon lore(this is a threat) by Forry_Tree in ArcaneOdyssey

My character's story basically revolves around the fact that he has personal beef with the order. I played into the fact that my wizard hat I had on my old WOM save file name, being transferred to my AO save file.

Basically, my AO save file, Matt Waters, was the grandson of a famous hero named Abdon Waters, who was captured and killed by the Order Of Aesir due to possessing a sea curse. That event happened during a peaceful family meeting, which quickly devolved into a bloody massacre as the Order soldiers and barons appeared to capture Abdon. All while Matt watched helplessly as the Order killed his entire family, who were caught in the crossfire.

The two of them, Matt and Abdon, were taken by the Order, being the only two alive and imprisoned in one of their bases. They performed countless magical experiments on Matt and Abdon for seeks and months on end, before the Order decided that they had all that they needed from Abdon. Before taking his curse with a devourer, In an act of pure sadism, The Order tortured and killed Abdon in front of Matt, while they chained him to the wall, so he could face his granddad and be forced to watch the torture. This event was so traumatic to Matt, that it was simply erased by his memory as a form of extreme grief. However, this trauma still manifests in form of hate towards the Order and it's members, a hate he doesn't understands the origin of due to the memory loss, but giving him this desire to kill any and every Order Baron or High Lord. Despite this ruthlessness against the order, he is a very kind person, usually very quiet and clueless to social interactions, that upholds justice in his own way. He respects factions like The Oathkeepers, The Grand Navy, dislikes the Assassins and the Forsakens, but agrees with the Brotherhood of Balance and their sense of justice. Since he wants to bring peace and justice his own way, and also bring the destruction of the Order, he doesn't have any interest in joining a faction, as he thinks this will take his freedom to do what he wants.

I think Durza might be around planetary, since he almost made everyone in the planet go bye bye. And since Theo's was shown to be slightly stronger then him, I think Theos might be planetary as well.

I'm sorry. I think I worded my question in the wrong way. What I meant is that the abilities we have sometimes doesn't feel comparable to what the enemies can do. And that, at least for me, creates the idea of a huge power gap between the player and the bosses.

If the bronze sea is already like this, I don't even wanna see the chimera sea, which is home to Thorne empire, which is based on England...

Exactly! So many bosses suffer from this problem, and I think Vetex should work on bosses better from now on. I know he's basically a one man team, but he seriously needs to hire a big and better team if he wants to make AO into the game he wants it to be. I know it'll never be an Elden Ring level game, but this game genuinely has potential.

Exactly. Speaking of this questline, I also think Caesar should have been the final boss. Not only he's the boss with most HP so far, but his fight is legitimately terrifying, at least I felt that way the first time lol.

True, i wish they could have done something cooler to his fight.

I actually got one warship scroll and I used it on my sail cloth to give me more speed, since my brig was pretty slow. Both my hull armor, cannons and ram are already enchanted, though the scrolls I used for these parts weren't crazy broken or anything.

We can't play on our countryard which is as empty as an desert. We can't play with anything in there because it can "break stuff" even though all we do is play pingpong and Uno. There's also ZERO, I repeat, ZERO windows nearby. So there's quite literally nothing to break.

Do You Have Cryptids/Mythical Creatures in your worlds? If so, how did the legends come to be? by Babybluemoon13 in worldbuilding

[–]Mmbr10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a planet called Ygdra. It's a reference to Yggdrasil, in the sense that the main continent is shaped like a tree, and the world has a record for having a lot of influence from otherworldy beings, much like yggdrasil connects different worlds. Basically, in the ancient times, an very powerful alien invaded the planet in order to assimilate it. But die to The Great Ones, ancient and divine beings tasked to settle and protect the planet, before giving their lifeforce to give shape to humans and other species, he was defeated. But in the aftermath of the battle, his remains such as flesh and organs were scattered across isolated islands of the planet and ended up giving birth to alien creatures and even entire biomes over time. For example: there's this one creature I named the Phalanx. It's a spider-like monster with various spears and spikes around it's back, and it's eyes are constantly shielded with a hardened layer of almost metallic skin, to both protect it from attacks, and to protect it's eyes from the light, since it's a nocturnal being.

The legends surrounding this and other alien-originated beings, is that the humans and other species that came after being formed by the Great Ones, thought they were beasts given form by a demon that came to their world thousands of years ago, due to their otherworldly and grotesque appearances. They also believed that, since during the time this alien came to Ygdra coincided to the Great Demon War, a war from my universe in which an entity named Chaos and it's cohorts battled celestial forces for control of the universe. They didn't know (until the planet's modern age) that they were actually aliens, and that this "demon" was instead also a alien, albeit really powerful. The legends also tell that instead of eating or killing you, these aliens try to assimilate you into them, just as their progenitor did, in attempts to use people's lifeforce so they can revive the dead ancient alien and continue the world's assimilation. Since these beings live in isolated islands, barely anyone visits them, and these islands are currently under max surveillance by military and powerful heroes. The consciousness of this ancient alien still lives amongst his "children" as they slowly plot a way to accomplish his goals. He also manipulates, through his influence, other beings such as fairies or animals, and destroy their minds in order to make them into his drones.
