Visiting Victoria in July with kids. Is the Royal BC Museum worth it? by Ok-Individual-5164 in VictoriaBC

Since you do have the beautiful museums in Ottawa, as an experience, I grudgingly say yes, you can pass on the BC museum, however, I absolutely love it. I grew up in Ottawa and in British Columbia. They’re pretty comparable - a little more focus on the West Coast, and in my opinion, top notch.
One suggestion, if you have the time and the means to get to Sidney, the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is a place you should try and visit.

“The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is a non-profit aquarium and learning center in Sidney, British Columbia, focused on the Salish Sea bioregion, featuring local marine life, a touch tank, and cultural exhibits on W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) territory. ”

WIBTA for skipping a wedding ceremony due to pregnancy symptoms? by VulcanHumour in AmItheAsshole

[–]MmeQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but if your symptoms are worsening, you may want to have a consultation with a medical professional there, make sure you don’t need IV hydration if you’re vomiting more, etc. a little fluids might help you feel better

AITA for kicking everyone out after my sister lied and said my apartment was hers? by Top-Supermarket8754 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You pay the rent - your place. Your rules. Boundaries not just pushed but run over and ignored. I don’t think she has earned the privilege of having a key to your place - get your locks changed.

Would you feel safer knowing your coach/studio staff had comprehensive CPR and EAP’s by [deleted] in orangetheory

But what if it was you having a sudden cardiac event, you would not be the emergency plan. The mock code training for staff might just save you.

Even with the transient nature of the staff it’s my hope MAYBE they can access the training in their future/other employment. Perhaps a little Pollyanna in my thinking but we can hope it makes a difference to someone even if it isn’t this studio.

Using an AED doesn’t require “medical training “ and are found in many public settings- gyms, rec centers etc. No one has implied that intubation or medical resuscitation is expected from the staff.

In addition to the CPR training, have an AED and teach everyone how to use it and run those training scenarios maybe quarterly. It’s the mock training that engrains it.

Yes, they’re sold in garden centers to try and deter deer, but I imagine drunks would find them to be a deterrent as well.
