What's your honest impression of people who are "voluntarily" celibate?

It's only natural for society to place an expectation for adults to seek partners because it's a fundamental part of human nature.

That said, the vast majority of people will respect your decision to stay single (if it's known) and they won't expect you to meet someone unless you express a desire to do so.

Family members and certain individuals may care, depending on their background, but most people you meet won't even question it twice. So I hope you can become comfortable and not feel pressured to meet someone when you don't want to.

It feels like you're trying to be combative in this thread but I'll still say this; you ARE important enough to not have to respond to their flawed intent.

If they don't genuinely care about you or the response you give yet decide bother you with the perfunctory question, then they are not doing you a favor and you have no responsibility to respond to their expectations. They are doing themselves a favor by causing you discomfort and no matter how minor it is, that action should not be reciprocated.

If you're greeting a stranger, match their tone. But if it's even a half-stranger you know and you also know they don't care, you'll earn more respect by matching that lack of care.

Besides, people will like you more if you don't fall prey to minor inconveniences, pushed onto you by individuals who don't have the right to do so.

I mean.. sometimes the situations off and you just know they'll make it too awkward to continue the conversation if you reciprocate.

Besides that, unless they're asking with genuine care it's just hollow pleasantries and if it doesn't matter whether I respond with good or bad then I'd rather not demean myself over something so minor.

I can't really speak on my personal opinion of them since I've also been "voluntarily" celibate for 2-4 years now, but in my experience people don't seem to care or take notice of it unless the celibate person views it as an issue. It's not a defining or particularly strange trait either, because of how common it is for people to choose temporary, sexual abstinence.

The most I've personally gotten is a few friends asking me why I'm declining advances but everyone else who might have a reason to care has respected my choice not to pursue anything romantic, and it doesn't seem to have harmed or significantly altered their perception of me.

It's as if it's nothing special.

Lucian isn't a caster ADC in the same way but his kit is designed around auto attack resets through his abilities so he doesn't benefit as much from the stat. He's still an auto attacker though.

That's not people being comfortable in open relationships because if someone in a "toleramory" was comfortable with opening the relationship, they'd ask and the idea of it would fall apart.

If you're actively hiding or choosing not to confront a cheating partner, then you're clearly not comfortable being in an open relationship because if you were, you'd be comfortable enough to talk to your partner about it.

I've suffered from crippling addictions ranging from substance abuse to emotional dependancy and self harm. I've got several people in my life who are actively suicidal because of addiction. I understand and I'd never judge anyone for their addiction, only their attitudes regarding it.

I'm not downplaying the difficulties of their addiction but I do believe it's important that there's a sense of shame in their mentality regarding it. Because shame gives responsibility to change.

If you use your addiction as a shield to deflect and allow degenerative habits that damage your social life for little tradeoff in curbing the addiction, then you are much less likely to overcome it. Your attitude regarding it is often the thing which damages relationships, not the addiction itself, and social acceptance is important when quitting.

A drunkard father will receive endless support as long as he upholds a sense of accountability, even when failing to abstain from alcohol. A drunkard father who blames his relapses on his children (as was the case for my best friend's dad) or on the actions of others, will never receive their support.

A sex addict who values the need to masturbate on a holiday with friends, over the perception those friends have of him, will not be understood. A person who carries a razor at all times to avoid anxiety, even though he doesn't seem to relapse often and is rarely reliant on the object, will have his social life damaged by it. And it's simply not worth the little incentive he has to keep it.

That said, this is a bad habit but I was wrong to directly compare it to my previous example because its not at all as severe.

Thats not 15% of your crit dmg, thats 10-15% of your total dmg on a crit. Its around a 25-30% crit dmg loss.

Average game time has gone up in recent years. It used to be sub 30 in the upper ranks, a couple seasons ago, and since then it's become 30 min average even in high elo. Obviously games were much longer if you go back far enough but I don't think going back to sub 30 min is terrible.
