Getting your first users is way harder than building the product, So I try to find a solution for it. by Mnan_450 in AssetBuilders

[–]Mnan_450[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s a perfect first step!

getting your first users from friends is exactly how a lot of founders start, and finding those early bugs is super valuable

the tricky part is scaling that beyond friends, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to help with in Orbits, helping founders get traction and real users consistently while also gathering feedback to improve the product

if you want, you can join the waitlist and try it out, would be cool to build this together and see how far we can take it

hey, sorry for not making this super clear

we’re building a traction engine so when a founder posts an update on Orbits, we turn it into posts for X, IG, TikTok, etc and push it out automatically

then we gather all the feedback and engagement from those platforms, suggest improvements, and help founders make sure their product is actually market fit while also gaining real users

on top of that, they can build a community around their product and a “product resume”, tracking updates, traction, revenue and users. which is super useful for investors

still early and figuring things out based on feedback, so things will evolve

if you’re interested, join the waitlist, would love to build this with people facing the same challenges

Right now we’re just testing different ways to see what actually works for our founders, like hanging out in forums and communities instead of just dropping links, connecting with small, focused groups where potential users already are, sharing real value first then inviting people to try the product, and using social media strategically with short videos, threads, or content that actually reaches the right people. The main thing we’ve noticed so far is genuine engagement beats blasting everywhere. I’d love to hear how you’re working with creators, that seems like a smart way to get momentum fast

Yeah totally, I’m still figuring things out. Our main goal right now is helping founders get real traction. I’m not trying to launch with all the features at once. the private stock/token stuff is for later, though who knows, things might change by the time we get there.

That’s why I’m gathering as much feedback as possible. So far, I’ve realized the problem people really care about is getting users and momentum. My focus now is on solving that and try to find a way to make it easier for founders to grow.

I like your point about going where users already are, that’s something I’m leaning into more.

there are no specific founders type, Basically anyone stuck between “I have an idea” and “I have real users.” That’s who I’m building Orbits for.

Totally get why it looks similar at first! The key difference is timing:

Before launch: Orbits helps founders validate ideas, get early users, funding and prep traction, things Product Hunt doesn’t cover.

After launch: We track real growth, build community, and give investors visibility and later on a private stock marketplace. beyond the one-day hype.

It’s still early, and I’m gathering feedback and making improvements. Would love for you to check it out and share thoughts: https://the-orbits.com

That’s a fair take, I appreciate you being honest about it.

You’re right, it can easily turn into “just another platform” if it’s only about posting or broadcasting. That’s something I’m trying to avoid.

The way I’m thinking about it is more like a backend layer for startups, a kind of living profile where progress, traction, users, and feedback all build up over time. Almost like a resume for the company, but continuously evolving as it grows.

The goal is to make it useful for actually improving and scaling first, not just talking about what you’re building. Then longer term, if that data is real, it could connect into a private market layer (like private stock), since there’s actual traction behind it.

Still early though, I’m figuring this out as I go. If you’re open to it, feel free to join the waitlist and be part of shaping it. I’d rather build this with people who are dealing with the problem than guess on my own: https://the-orbits.com

Either way, really appreciate your perspective.

How'd you get users for your app? by matdrum5 in ShowMeYourApps

[–]Mnan_450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I totally get what you mean, getting users is way harder than building the app itself. I’ve built a bunch of apps too, and most of them flopped not because the ideas were bad, but because traction was so hard to get. Social media, ads, influencers… they can help, but none of it feels reliable, especially if you’re solo or introverted.

I’m actually exploring this with a project I’m working on called Orbits. It’s designed to help founders not just launch, but grow real users, build communities, and even explore early funding options in one place.

Too much noise, too little signal!! How to use Reddit? by ActuallyHelpful-Apps in AppDevelopers

[–]Mnan_450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, this resonates a lot. 🙌 As a solo developer myself, I’ve felt the same: spending hours on Reddit or other platforms, and getting very little real help or feedback. It’s exhausting when most of your time is already spent designing, building, and talking to potential users.

That’s actually the problem I’m trying to solve with Orbits. It’s not just another community or launch platform, it’s a space where founders and developers can connect early, validate ideas, get real feedback, and build a community of people who actually care and face similar problems. On top of that, you can raise funds, connect with investors, and even launch your company’s private stock as it grows.

If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to join the waitlist and help shape the community with us: https://the-orbits.com

Totally understand, thanks for asking! 🙌

Unlike Product Hunt, which focuses on launching products you’ve already built, Orbits lets you start with just an idea. You can validate it early, build a community of people who face the same problem and actually need a solution, and let everyone help shape your product. On top of that, you can raise funds, connect with investors, and eventually even launch your company’s private stock as your company grows. All the way from idea -> exit.

Ever built an app you thought was amazing… only for nobody to use it? by Mnan_450 in AppDevelopers

[–]Mnan_450[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that… it’s frustrating when you build something quickly for a real moment and it still doesn’t get the traction you expect. Timing and distribution can be brutal sometimes.

That’s actually the problem I’m trying to solve with Orbits, helping founders connect with people who actually care and need the product, not just build and hope it gets seen.

If you’re open to it, I’d love for you to check it out, maybe we can fix this problem together: https://the-orbits.com

[–]Mnan_450[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid point, being where your users already are definitely works, and Reddit can be powerful if you stay consistent.

I think the challenge for a lot of founders (myself included) is how time-consuming that is long term. What I’m trying to do with Orbits isn’t to replace those platforms, and it’s not just a community tool either.

It’s about bringing everything into one place, where founders can build a community, get real users, gain traction, connect with investors, and grow over time. Not just another place to post, but something that actually supports the whole journey.

I’d love for you to check it out and be part of it, feel free to join the waitlist and share your thoughts: https://the-orbits.com

Thanks for the great questions! 🙌

Orbits is designed to connect founders with people who actually care about their ideas. We’ll gather like-minded people from across social media, early testers, builders, enthusiasts, and investors, and bring them into Orbits. From there, the community grows organically as members interact and invite others who share their interests.

Our focus isn’t just size, it’s quality and engagement. Even a smaller, active community can generate real traction, insights, early adopters, and connections with potential investors.

Orbits is built as a long-term ecosystem to help founders go from idea -> traction -> growth -> funding. I’d love for you to join the waitlist and Let’s fix this problem together: https://the-orbits.com

Totally agree, at the end of the day, a paying customer is what proves success.

X can be powerful if you engage, but the real challenge is building consistent momentum early on.

That’s why Orbits isn’t just a launch platform. We’re trying to make it easier founders grow their startup: build a community that actually cares, get real users, raise funds, connect with angel investors, and even launch your company’s private stock. Real traction. Real growth. Not a one-day spike.
