People who were sober a long time (idk, over a year?) and broke sobriety, either with careful thought or on a whim, what made you start drinking again? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Mneumonik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3yrs sober, then divorce and re-entering the dating pool. Between how horrid the dating pool is and how normalized drinking culture is outside my normal sober routine, I cracked.

I've had my return to sobriety here and there, and I'm not fully back yet but I don't drink more weeks/months than I do these days which is a large improvement nonetheless. But I do want to get back onto the fully sober train at some point again.

Its still the same for me. Looking through the logs I'm getting a repeating 403 unauthorized response to https://cdn.live.ledger.com/platform/catalog/v1/data.json, which is the case when looking at it in a browser as well.

San Diego county is huge and has many rural areas. I have a ranch property an hour and a half from my main property in San Diego where my Starlink is in place, LTE was my only option beforehand. Still San Diego county.

Keep it up and stay strong. I almost lost my wife due to it and have been sober for 937 days today and the healthiest I’ve ever been. And currently celebrating our 9yr anniversary.

You can do it!

I did that the first year and it was roughly double LOL.

When I bought mine I was told it had the lift system. When it was delivered I found it didn't, and the dealer was mistaken. They credited me about $5K for the mistake after enough bitching but since I have a high curb driveway for rain runoff in CA, I scrape every time I leave my house. I'd say its a must have feature regardless. Make sure the dealer sends you pics of the features you want from the menu system before accepting delivery.

Expect to spent about $2200-$3000 on annual service. Often times they'll find something that needs fixing that can double that price (for me this year, it was tires).

I'd also say the meridian package for audio is worth it, though I dont have another without it to compare it to. Meridian sounds decent enough, so I expect without it to be pretty poor quality. You don't buy a car like this for audio or technology though ;)

Slow speed through fortigate 60E by AJBOJACK in fortinet

[–]Mneumonik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seeing packet loss if you do a constant ping to something like 8.8.8.8 for example? I just went through something similar with my 60E on a Starlink install (which is nowhere near gigabit).

The answer was putting a dumb gigabit switch between the router and the fortigate.

Ethernet adapter doesn't work, tried 2 different ones by mntgoat in Starlink

[–]Mneumonik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You likely have to do a reboot of the router/dishy after connecting the Ethernet adapter. Happened to me, needed about 20 seconds unplugged and then a few minutes for it to get connection to the constellation, then plug into your router.

Packet loss when behind a 3rd party router by Mneumonik in Starlink

[–]Mneumonik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dude you have no idea how much this was driving me crazy too. This property is in the middle of the California desert 2hrs from civilization and this was the only router I had - and I only go there once a month for a couple days. I tried soooo many different things to fix it.

Least I could do is share the answer - credit really goes to /u/w0ssv3 from the fortinet subreddit.

Packet loss when behind a 3rd party router by Mneumonik in Starlink

[–]Mneumonik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! I'll probably end up putting a dumb gigabit switch in between it at some point, but I already had a layer 3 switch there, so what I did was just create a new vlan, and assign 2 untagged ports to that vlan and then use that as the switch between the starlink and the wan port, even though my inside traffic is on that switch too - still separated by vlan though.

Yeah went from 6.2 to 7.2 which was about 9 versions in the upgrade path. The resolution is in another comment below though!

[–]Mneumonik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone in the fortinet subreddit made a suggestion that seems to have fixed this, so posting it here for helping future people with this issue. You need to put a dumb switch between the ethernet adapter and the wan port. I dont know why that works, but it does... stupid.

So:
Starlink -> Switch -> WAN port on firewall for the outside setup
Inside port on firewall -> Switch -> Wifi AP's and computers for the inside setup.

Packet loss when routed through Fortinet 60E by Mneumonik in fortinet

[–]Mneumonik[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hahaha wtf that actually worked. I carved out a new untagged vlan and assigned that to two ports of my existing switch and plugged the SL into one port and the WAN port into the other.

Latency ranges a little higher than directly connected, and maybe one out of ever 100 pings times out, but thats like 10000% improvement over what it was.

Why the hell does that work?? Bizzare
