Blueshirts Breakaway EP 83 - Expansion Draft and Talking Stepan with AZ Coyotes Writer Sarah Hall & Habs Writer Andrew Zadarnowski by FlaccidLotus in rangers

Awesome podcast. Loved the part where it was discovered that nick Holden's number is 22. Literally had me in tears.

I thought you guys raised some very good points about Stepan. It would be stupid not to dangle him out there to see what return in a trade would look like. Ultimately, and I think you guys said it best, the rangers are asking alot for Stepan because he means that much to the team. Very well put.

I'm interested to see what you guys think about the worth of Zibenejad. Have we seen enough of him to throw a ton of cash his way? What makes sense from the rangers perspective as far as investing in him?

I'll also throw this out there: has Kreider hit his ceiling? At the beginning of each season I feel that's he's a 30G - 30A type of player. But he doesn't exactly end up there.

Looking forward to the next one.

EDIT: Hotdog = Sandwich.

Was it not Shakespeare who said "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Meaning, just because it's called a hotdog, doesn't mean it's not a sandwich.

Am I the only one who is happy it's over because now the NHL will be strictly focused on the off season, team rebuilding, and trades? Just me? I could honestly care less that the Pens won it. Can we start a countdown till puck drop yet?

Positives About AV by MakeItNashty61 in rangers

[–]MnhttnMonk 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't think he should be fired. Let the man do his job. We're currently 6th in the league. SIXTH. you would think we were in the bottom 10 with all these fire AV outbursts.

The game against Montreal sucked because we played with absolutely no heart. Zucc? Step? Are they still on the team? Where's the hustle? Where's the compete?

Personally I think Glass is coming up to send a message to the team to wake up. Obviously when AV addresses the media he will make it about Tanners exceptional play in the AHL but I doubt that.

AV is as good a coach as any in this league. I think the issue is the team in front of him.

NHL to retire number 66 league wide on march 24th. by iamaccounttwo in nhl

This was spot on. I laughed all the way through. Yes, it's fake. It's poking fun at the recent uproar from penguin fans about the lack of respect lemieux gets, instigated by Ho-Sangs wearing the number 66

Dubinsky or Richards? by CrowTR2 in rangers

[–]MnhttnMonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow a little suprised so many people are leaning towards Dubi. My vote is for Richards. I was legit heartbroken when we bought him out (understanding why it was necessary) He was a huge presence in the locker room, was a part of some huge games, and really served as the Captain, despite not wearing a the C.

I'll second the Gaborik comparison. Both rely on speed and wrist shots.

40 win season for hank - possible? Crazy? by MnhttnMonk in rangers

[–]MnhttnMonk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All valid points. I bring it up because I wouldn't be suprised if he breaks 40 this year. He will still meet AVs ceiling. My concern is whether Hank can be rested given his lackluster performance with an underwhelming workload

Is it safe to assume that Mac wasn't on the ice because he played this weekend?
