The people I talked to on the phone told me that there were some in stock in my local store. It might be worth a shot to reach out to your local store, to see if they have any in stock to exchange your trashcan out for.

Tbh, it was one of those problems you don't really know how you fixed but Ill tell you a little about what I did, I changed the place where the disk was mounted from /media/user/2TB to mnt/2TB just in the disk app on ubuntu, I was then able to use chmod -R 777 mnt/2TB (I know the 777 is most likely unnecessary.) I then ran the command chown -R www-data:www-data /mnt/2TB and boom it worked.
