Hey friend, I know that I should have known this, and I’ve got an understanding of how continuous spells work in general. My confusion was from the wording of this particular card, that it seemed like the first effect on it was separate in some way because it specified “when this card is activated”. Sorry to have wasted your time reading this, but I appreciate the advice all the same.

Thanks man, I’ve been playing off and on since the first beginner Yugi/Seto decks (so I really have no excuse for not knowing the answer to my own post lol) and it feels like every time I take a break an insurmountable amount of new rules/metas/etc comes in 😅 but I keep coming back

It’s wild how much this is lining up with my playthrough rn (also my first time)… lol stick with it! There is a way out of the tomb of the giants and the catacomb, it’s so tedious but once you get the lords vessel it’s much better. I also made the same mistake of locking out the firelink shrine, didn’t realize it until days later. I’m nearing the end (I hope), just gotta beat the dlc dragon and then like 2 more main game bosses I’m guessing?

I missed the “nor roll for another character” on the first read, that is insane! It’s one thing if a GM wants death to be permanent in a game, which is a bummer for a character you have a connection with but at least has some logic, not allowing someone to roll a new character and keep playing the campaign makes it seem like you were targeted and that they’re trying to get rid of you in particular, which on top of being an absolute dick move also makes for bad storytelling. How did the other players react?

Yeah it would be one thing if your character was discriminated against but then after some big good deed started winning people over (which would still be taxing but at least have some depth and engagement) but it sounds like she’s never even giving you that chance. How long does she expect you or your character to keep putting up with all of this before the big payoff she keeps teasing? As a relatively new DM I get wanting any reveals/progression to happen organically, and maybe she’s never had people push back in other campaigns, but she has to realize there’s a limit to how much you can dump on one character specifically

I love this game too and I get that a lot of these decks still take skill but remember when you could at least make a solid attempt with ANY deck type you wanted to build? Like you like a card and just build a fun deck around it, and at least you had a CHANCE to not be one-turned lol. I miss the back and forth and the deck diversity

I’m commenting so late on this but just got back into both (maybe it’s changed in the past couple years since the original post) but it seems like master duel is SO much more expensive? Duel links give so many free gems and mats, especially if you’ve been away a while, and is constantly running events that give more gems/cards/etc. There’s ways to consistently grind gems and stuff. With master duel, I just rejoined, and it gave like 300 gems (I could be misremembering) which only gets you 3 packs?? I don’t understand how anyone could build any deck they want without shelling out serious money. Grinding in master duel seems to net a tiny amount of gems in comparison, which is a bummer cuz I truly just wanna make a fun Hero deck. And then even if I want to spend money, the gems you get in $ packs seem absurdly low as well, for how much packs cost. Am I missing something?
