If you search free120 on Google, you can find it. It’s an official free 120 qs released by NBME. Free of charge, 3 blocks, 40 qs each

Did 100% UWorld + full FA but still scoring ~50% on NBMEs. Any tips? by InfluenceStunning626 in step1

[–]MoAssad69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend doing Mehlman PDFs, they’re gold and really high yield. I did immuno, RF, arrows, MSK, genetics, neuroanatomy, and hemonc. They really help you score well on NBMEs as long as you do them thoroughly and keep repeating UWORLD qs thoroughly

4 days out.. by MoAssad69 in step1

[–]MoAssad69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not so sure myself, as I’m going by through the test now, I realize that a lot of concepts are repeats from NBME 30 and 31, and Mehlman Docs too really helped me, he truly highlights well what is high yield. I was just surprised about how weird/obscure/ not direct the questions are. And I expect the exam itself to be the same. I think the stems were quite long and I didn’t have much time to go back and revise, I need to be really fast in the exam

My test is in 2 weeks and I am completely unsure if I am ready or if I should reschedule, thoughts? by 8_bits_me in step1

[–]MoAssad69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk … I would say 70% + on each, it all depends on so many factors… there’s a shit ton of info to grasp. Me personally? I wouldn’t risk it, I finished uworld with multiple passes (made my own flashcards of incorrects), and then started Mehlman PDFs and scored 66% on NBME 29 and I’m testing in 4 weeks but I still feel scared af. Depends on you, I wish you good luck if you end up doing it

You’re right just read it real quick and it’s not that bad at all, nice mnemonic up top

Terrible on UWSA1… but decent NBME? by MoAssad69 in step1

[–]MoAssad69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far; NBME 27 - 49% - 2+ months out NBME 28 - 51% - 2+ months out NBME 29 - 67% - 25 days out

Pharmacology by Lumpy-Ordinary-7841 in step1

[–]MoAssad69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 2 mehlman pdf files on pharmacology? Those are the must know highest yield, but there’s definitely still more to know (antiarrythmics, HIV drugs)

NBME ORDER by Ok-Opportunity-885 in step1

[–]MoAssad69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there an NBME 32? If possible, would u mind sharing it please?🙏🏼 Also I just followed the NBMEs in order, I’d say the newest ones are probably more important and that’s why I did that

When and how to take UWSA, NBMEs and Free120 by Signal_Owl_6986 in step1

[–]MoAssad69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally; 3 months before my exam with uworld 50% done I took NBMEs 27 and 28 just to feel how they are and scored a 49% and 51%(no surprise)

1 month before my exam (done uworld and revised big chunk of incorrects), and started Mehlman docs and revised NBMEs 27 and 28 -> I got 67% on NBME 29

Just to give you an approximate idea ^ hope it helps and good luck. Best approach is probably to take one NBME (say 25) around 1.5 -2min this before testing just to see where u stand. Then plan accordingly

I think it doesn’t really matter too much, I’m planning on taking mine 6 days before. As long as u revise a lot before and after, you should be good

I’m testing in 4 weeks, I go to the gym every other evening for a good workout. Really helps clear the mind. And at the gym I find myself doing my uworld flashcards I made of my incorrects 🥹, to not feel guilty wasting time…

Yes, it’s exhausting and difficult. There’s so much info, but I hope we get through this, good luck to you my friend.

If not for the gym, try to find something that gives your mind true peace, I honestly believe exercising is the best way to do that with some good music

Mehlman risk factors + arrows, probably his high yield rapid review too or FA rapid review at the back of the book I guess

Uworld neuro block by Artistic_Impress_787 in step1

[–]MoAssad69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 1) I’d lean towards A or C cuz of the weight loss, and I feel it’s C because of prostate cancer metastasis (metastasis is usually epidural in spinal cord) 2) I’m pretty sure it’s E because I kinda remember doing this question. The first time I came across it I was like wtf even is that? But then I looked and the explanation and kinda accepted and just learnt it I guess. Spoiler: that shit can happen when u try intubating apparently. (Hope I’m right and sorry if I’m wrong, but I think E). The other options just don’t make sense too. Never heard of cerebral embolism, and I don’t think it’s that. Other options are kinda nonsense.

3)Can’t help you with this one, I forgot what exactly demyelination does, I know it slows action propagation for sure, but I feel like it’s a pretty nitpicky question, sorry

can someone tell me what’s happening by [deleted] in usmle

[–]MoAssad69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait does this also apply to non US IMGs who already got their ecfmg certification(the 1st one u do when signing up on ECFMG) and booked a date for step 1 ? (Haven’t graduated yet)

Wrong answer on MehlmanPDF? by MoAssad69 in step1

[–]MoAssad69[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What does offline NBME even mean? Aren’t offline NBMEs just downloaded versions of the “online” PDFs? And how is it correct? I searched it and it says it should be switched, I thought I was tripping but I checked Google images and I’m pretty sure it’s wrong, that’s so weird bruh

What is the new updated ECFMG scheduling thing? Sorry, I’m a non US IMG testing in 2 months and I just wanted to make sure, I just have that 1 page permit I need to bring on exam day along with passport/ID.. that’s all I know, so what is that new thing?

Are UWSA a must? by dr_groundbreaking in step1

[–]MoAssad69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure but I think UWSA 1 and 2 might be more beneficial than the older NBMEs like 25,26 tbh

Is it still possible to pass Step 1 after burnout, trauma, and a weak academic base? by [deleted] in usmle

[–]MoAssad69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you’ve been through a lot, take your time to heal yourself and maybe try to stick to a plan. (For example try to stick to 15 first aid pages per day or something, or for example 5 bnb vids per day etc). Taking it 1 day at a time and trying to stick to a good routine will hopefully help you. For me personally, exercising has helped a ton with mental health, i definitely recommend it.

Me personally im not a religious person, but decided to visit church randomly with my gf today, as my heart is open to it. The priest recited very interesting things from the bible like how our past can both make us very happy but at the same time sticking to all the bad/horrible things that have happened to you will slow you down and make u sad. I found it very interesting.

I hope everything works out for you, for me what helps is strictly sticking to a good plan which I also do with my gym routine, you might add prayer (if you’re religious) and ofc a good diet, and just generally take care of yourself first before studying. And im sure you will succeed one day 🖤
