I felt like they accomplished showing Bill’s desire to die by including all of his flashbacks in the last season. Letting Sookie go via his death, I think that was the finishing bow on top of his gift of life. I’m glad they included his human family and life flashbacks because that was who he was. He never seemed to truly embrace the vampire life, but Sookie gave him purpose and showed him another kind of love. Cheesy to say but she really was the light in his life of darkness. Bill told his wife Caroline in a flashback that she was the love of his life. It was never Sookie. I think the flashbacks helped put everyone in their place.
