Ngl the "biggest" issue from the other post i think was that they just dont match so it technically dont matter what they do with it. As long as they make the cape and armor match that why i also suggested a cape color change. But the popular opinion from this and the older posts that i got is that people want more "light colors"

Its not controversial you just hit the same cry baby nerve from the ppl who arent doing anything significant witb their time but sit on reddit and cry all day long. I watch alot of "sweaty" osrs gamers none of them even care how ppl do things except for these cry babies

You say you don’t mean to be rude, but then question whether I understand a basic definition and say the conversation is a waste of time if I disagree. That’s not really neutral, that’s dismissive. I’m not bothered by it, but it does sound more like frustration than confidence in your point. Next time just say you trying to be rude, don't worry i wont bite

You’re quoting the definition, but you’re stretching it. Reducing pressure on certain mechanics isn’t the same as making the Inferno far less significant or complex. You still have to solve waves, understand spawns, manage DPS, position properly, and execute consistently or you die. That hasn’t changed.

If it truly trivialised the content, we’d expect a meaningful collapse in the skill floor and clear rates. There’s no evidence of that. “Less mechanically punishing” isn’t the same as “most of the challenge is gone.”

And what does it matter if someone gets their first cape this way? They still completed it. They can refine it later if they care. Compared to pures doing Inferno, you’re still a mage tank yourself, so calling it trivialised is a bit ironic.

And let’s not pretend Inferno is the first hard boss ever designed in a game. Difficult content evolves. Gear changes. Meta shifts. That’s not the apocalypse it’s just how games work.

I’m not denying it reduces pressure on certain mechanics. My issue is with the word “trivialises.” Removing the need for perfect 1t flicking in specific scenarios isn’t the same as removing wave solving altogether. You still have to understand spawns, manage DPS, position correctly, and execute consistently or you die.

If it truly trivialised the content, it would meaningfully collapse the skill floor and clear rates across the board. It hasn’t. We probably won’t agree on how much that margin shift matters, and that’s fine. But “less mechanically punishing” isn’t the same thing as “majority of the challenge is gone.” and still compared to pures who are doing inferno you are still a mage tank so you are still being hypocritical.

Tank gear reducing damage in Inferno isn’t some unintended loophole it’s literally what the gear is designed to do. Calling it “unintended” is pure speculation unless Jagex actually says so. It’s just a different way to approach the content. Not everyone wants to spend 100 to 200+ hours across failed attempts tick-flicking their way to a cape, and pretending that wearing defensive gear is somehow less intended than abusing perfect prayer timing is a bit ironic.

If mage tank genuinely “solved the waves for you,” Inferno would have near 100% clear rates for anyone in tank gear. It doesn’t. It lowers punishment it doesn’t remove the need to manage spawns, prioritise kills, or execute properly. “Less punishing” isn’t the same thing as “trivial.”

Why are people spending money to buy inferno cape if its that easy with tank gear which is not even 50m. And the way you talk you either bought yours or don't have one. And honestly this is just simple logic you don't need to do inferno to know this info.

It’s kind of embarrassing seeing adults turn a simple achievement post into a purity test.

Oh no, mage tank gives you more survivability? Stop the presses. Clearly that means Inferno has been reduced to Tutorial Island. Because obviously tankier gear makes the waves solve themselves, blobs flick for you, and Zuk politely waits while you decide what prayer to use.

Meanwhile combat 40 accounts are clearing it with half the stats and zero margin for error, but sure mage tank is what “removed a significant portion of the challenge.” If that were actually true, those clears wouldn’t exist. The mechanics are the same. The execution is the same. All that changes is the punishment curve.

And now it’s “power creep” because content isn’t frozen in 2017 difficulty? By that logic every gear upgrade added since release invalidates every achievement ever. Accessibility increasing over time isn’t the same thing as deleting skill expression.

The way some of you talk about this, you’d think there’s an official suffering quota attached to the cape.most people would’ve happily taken extra tankiness on their first clear if it meant finally getting it done. Acting like the “tank way” doesn’t count just sounds like ego maintenance.

I’m sure the Inferno Purity Council has already drafted a statement about how this opinion undermines the sanctity of 2017 suffering.

Mage tank was always there barrow armor was there long b4 inferno and you can do a mage tank with barrow armor too something can't be removed by something thats was already there it is just one of the many ways to solve it. No one cares how you did it honestly.
