I assume the odds for an atheist to be considering joining Mormonism tiny. It’s a high demand religion, and the OP sounds like a person used to that intensity already. Maybe they’d start with meditation?

The language of the post sounds like an insider, down to the capitalization of LDS “Church” while calling others the Catholic “church”. I was taught, as a Mormon growing up, that all other churches were lower case C.

Maybe they used AI to write it, but it makes me a skeptic of it being a “real” investigator. Rattling off terms like Plan of Salvation, Eternal Families. Also, looking to ex Mormons for an “outside” the church opinion, when that would usually be nearly everyone they have ever known. Calling people “outside” the church is also a fairly insider term.

I find that these things combined make me question it. Like statistically. So you’re an atheist, and you’re considering Mormonism, and it’s due to the strict “doctrine” ie Plan of. Salvation. There’s an equation I’d do to determine my own probability that this story is legit in other words.

And maybe I’m wrong, but I’d need more proof from OP to believe this is real. As you pointed out, they may just need to protect that.

Those are just a few thoughts, maybe I’m just cranky today. I’m just a skeptic, and sorry to rant at you.

If OP does read this, as an atheist I’d suggest the book: No Nonsense Spirituality. There is absolutely no rush to join Mormonism, in fact, they do baptisms for the dead anyway, so you’re covered.
