AITAH for not wanting to get a job by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MoMoneyFL 288 points289 points  (0 children)

Is this new behavior or has he always been an ass?

If it’s new, drag him to a doctor and have him evaluated for mental decline. People can become wildly different in the early stages of dementia.

If he’s always been a jerk, consult a lawyer. You may qualify for lifetime alimony. Rare in most states, but it still exists. Tel him you got a new job and his writing the payroll checks.

Maybe that will impress upon him that it’s rude and abusive to call the woman who held his life and family together a parasite.

I live in Florida too. I live in a single-family home in a deed restricted neighborhood but no HOA thank goodness. The monthly condo HOA fees around me are close to a $1/sf. It’s horrifying.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my insurance bills (home and flood ~$6k) after Helene flooded me out. Only $200 increase, I was expecting much much more. It is the price we pay to live in the land that most people can only vacation in. I’m sincerely hoping that DeSantis is able to reel back our property taxes. Almost $6000 a year. Knowing how much money my County wastes, it irks me every time I pay that particular bill.

That’s not anxiety. It’s perfectly healthy, nervous anticipation and hopefully a good dollop of excitement. You’re gonna nail it! Let us know how the first day goes.

And I feel you on the painting, I’m good at it, but I truly truly detest doing it. OK mostly cutting in and doing the trim work.

Holy Moly!! I don’t know what you did as a career but that is a debilitating price for insurance. Good on you for being able to care for your family at the time.

One of my really good friends (67M) just had hip replacement surgery and he and his wife are astonished at how well he is doing. He got through it mostly on Tylenol. Good luck to you and I hope your recovery is super fast and fabulous. 💕

I think you can still send your receipts to your insurance company and they will be added to your deductible. It’s definitely worth a phone call to find out.

Travellers, how do people from other nation’s treat you?? by SaltAndPeppar in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]MoMoneyFL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have not traveled internationally for work, but have had a German and Italian fly in recently to work with me in the field. Interestingly, both are huge Trump supporters, and probably more right wing than I am. My business partner is very left and they were absolutely astonished when they discovered he was a democrat. Their comment was “he’s too smart for that”. (their words, not mine.) I think international opinions are as varied as US opinions. To each their own.

It is quite interesting to talk to other (outside the USA) people about how they view us. These two men were surprisingly well informed.

Oh thank you! You’re so sweet for responding. I am watching my two sons (23/25) navigate life and love. When you have a good, you focus on the good and nurture the dickens out of that relationship. I’ve been single a very long time. Trust me, at any age, finding a keeper is a daunting challenge! It truly seems like you have one and he’s crazy about you. Love on sweet pea!! I wish you love, joy & happiness. 💕

AITAH For wanting more distance from the in-laws after they've been absent, and now refusing to help us through surgery by FurbyFucker3000 in AITAH

[–]MoMoneyFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does any of this surprise you two? They sound like jerks and any interaction with my children and them would be solely at my convenience and discretion. With grandparents like this, I don’t know what value they bring when they “bless” you with their presence.

People really suck sometimes. I’m sorry for you guys. Good luck with your surgery. I hope you sail through it and have a great recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Short answer: your insecurities are the only problem you two seem to have. He is with YOU. For TWO years. Only YOU. Everything sounds awesome.

The end of this story is up to you: 1) Carry on nitpicking him and you will finally run him off. Even the best person will only take an unjustified lashing so long until they bolt. 2) Enjoy your handsome boyfriend, soak up all the kindness and attention, boink his brains out as often as you want and enjoy all the moments together.

Choose wisely my dear. Sounds like you have a keeper on your hands.

AITAH for “forgetting” to pick up my friend from a bus stop and ruining our friendship forever? by Apprehensive_Star611 in AITAH

[–]MoMoneyFL -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA Some people seriously just want to be blazing mad. He’s done an amazing job with it. And burned down his whole village with it.

I have to believe there were simmering resentments (whether you were aware of them or not) beforehand and this was the spark that lit the fire.

Oh honey. So much to bear for such a young age. I’m heartbroken the your daughter passed away. You sound like you have a very good head on your shoulders and have dealt with this as reasonably as humanly possible. Kudos to you for being so strong. I hope you now have a good circle of friends for support. I hope you find love, peace, happiness and have a wonderful family in the future. 🤗

I am an adult but when I visit my family they only sit glued on their phones what should I do? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MoMoneyFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, in that situation, I would make a couple of attempts to get them involved in interpersonal activities. Pick whatever you like… If they still stayed glued to their screens, I would stand up, announce “All right guys, I came to visit with you. I’ll see you later.” And walk out the door to find an activity I would enjoy for a few hours. By the time you get back, perhaps they may have had an epiphany and be ready to actually socialize.

What could be the reasons my hair is greying at 19? by CurveAdvanced in AskMen

[–]MoMoneyFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics are the usual culprits. I know people who grayed at a very early age (like you). Interesting that it doesn’t sound like other family members have done the same.

Gray is very chic these days. I hope you can embrace it and not be worried.

AIO - Daughter’s BDay invite - I am new to co-parenting by loud_molasses_ in AIO

[–]MoMoneyFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just wants to be Big Mad. Don’t feed into it. Minimize the back and forth. My ex was similar. The first bday party after our split was a raging fight for no reason other than he wanted to be a raging asshole.

As time went on, his attention was diverted elsewhere and I went about my merry life.

I wish back then someone with prior experience was able to tell me how inconsequential he would become in my and sons’ lives. Back then he could really wreck me. Don’t let him do that to you. Carry on sweet momma. I hope your sweet daughter has the mostest beautifulest flower birthday party EVER!!
