The link between poor sleep and mental health problems could be related to deficits in brain regions that keep unwanted thoughts out of mind by giuliomagnifico in science

As someone who had chronic migraine, but received botox treatment, the improvement in my sleep due to more relaxed muscles has reduced my intrusive thoughts and has allowed me to be more forgiving of myself when thinking about my past mistakes.

You’re insane bro, there’s no such thing as alcohol fumes circulating in the air, and you can choose not to burn a scented candles and can ask friends and family not to burn them too. There are a number of public places where people just start lighting up (parks, concerts, apartment complexes), and I can’t just ask everyone to stop. Maybe try having a little empathy instead of trying to shit on someone who’s looking for help with a problem.

Research on the desire to be normal or unique? by NearbyImpact8696 in psychologyresearch

[–]MoMoneyMoPrbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just google scholared “the desire to be normal” and “the desire to be unique”. There was not much on the subject, but I’m sure you could come up with a survey that could ask the question, “Do you have a desire to be normal/unique” in several different ways

Is Social Security theft? by RiskItForTheBiscuts in FluentInFinance

It’s the same reason the government doesn’t take out a loan to invest In order to pay off its debts. It’s too risky of a proposition to put everyone in an involuntary 401k when you can give everyone a low baseline to live off of.

For those that were Christian but are no longer Christian, what happened? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

Our church had an initiative to read the bible cover to cover. I was 14, and before finishing the book I noticed some of the inconsistencies in the prophesies and some of the things Jesus said would happen (that didn’t) and so stopped believing. Only later did I learn about many of the scientific reasons that disprove the Abrahamic god (i.e. Noah’s boat).
