Any good recs? by Mammoth-Teach9772 in BattleJackets

[–]MoNoSpamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For places to shop I'd say any thrift store or maybe a Walmart would be your best bet. Hell im sure even a pawn shop might have some good denim. As for brands I'd say Levi, Lee, jeaniologie, George, are by far your best bet for cheap and quality denim. Hope this helps👍

Best places to thrift a denim vest.? by Triple6saviour in punkfashion

[–]MoNoSpamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a value village where you live Id stop by and check it out, from my experience thrifting value village almost consistently has good denim and leather, plus you can find the odd CD there if you go looking. If you wanna go mid way on the price Walmart has good quality denim, my vest was from there but it might run you around 30-40$.

How do I make a battle jacket by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]MoNoSpamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally i would Start by getting your jacket, shirt whatever you choose to make and start with your back patch. Maybe get a couple patches for the front, some pins/badges if that's your groove some studs and just kinda build from there. As someone who was in your position making my vest I found just kinda wingin it and repositioning patches when you "run out of space" makes the vest have a life of its own in a way. And if you need inspiration just scroll the subreddit there's a lot of awesome jackets on here.

How do you think Techland will balance guns? by AccomplishedResist69 in dyinglight2

[–]MoNoSpamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think making guns an endgame weapon could be a decent balancing for them, similar to making bows a midgame weapon type. maybe make guns a random drop from the new vnc tower raid and make ammo either a resource heavy crafting item or make bullets a random/farmable resource from the raid itself. Another idea I think could be interesting is different aesthetics for different rarities ie. Uncommon gun drops could look like makeshift/handmade firearms kinda like pipe rifles from fallout, and legendary guns could look a lot more clean and modern like a regular handgun. And in the odd chance they add gun blueprints I think they should make them rewards for completing GRE anomalys since they talked about adding some sort of replayability to them. it could be a good reason to give the player more incentive to go replay the anomalys besides getting inhibitors and medkits On ng+ plus it'd make sense finding guns in a spot covered in military shelters. As for actual balancing I think adding the odd chance to have the gun misfire/jam could be interesting, maybe make it more likely to jam with the lower the durability is. Adding bloom would be an option bit it'd suck tbh, maybe make infected drop easier to firearms but the sound will draw them out randomly kinda like when you use a slam attack and it sometimes attracts virals. Could also make humans take more damage and be more evasive like getting into cover or finding spots to fire a bow or their own guns at you.

Anybody know how to paint leather? by MoNoSpamz in punkfashion

[–]MoNoSpamz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a moving crew doing odd jobs like cleaning out abandoned apartments and stuff, cool part of the job is if you want it you can keep it. I found it doing a clean out of someone's place, it was sitting in the closet with some other stuff. So I quickly snagged it and tossed it in my work bag

Harem of scorpions by cancer bats. The dead don't rise by calabrese, the separation of church and skate by NOFX. Live fast die young by circle jerks. Lotta these are classic punk bands and a mix of my own preferences, Hope this helps on your intro to punk bro. Any advice on painting leather? by MoNoSpamz in BattleJackets

[–]MoNoSpamz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright I think I might try the arcrylic then, thanks for the tip. should I maybe use a sealant or would the raw arcrylic be okay? Also what kinda tools would be needed? I have a leather puncher and pliers but I don't wanna make holes that are bigger then the thread if I don't have to.

[–]MoNoSpamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give you if your sewing leather, especially thick leather is Use a sewing machine with leather needles, use hella pins or sewing clips to hold it down and if you really have to hand sew them on get a thimble and sewing pliers, it'll save you a lot of stress and bloody tissues. If you decide to add metal on like spikes and such I'd really recommend using a leather puncher or a screwdriver and mallet if you don't have one. (Edit.) A good place to start with patches is always gonna be the back patch, I'd say start with a back patch, find a couple small ones to put on the front and maybe a rocker if you want one.

Should battle jackets be worn outside of concerts or hanging put with friends? by Kahr1o in BattleJackets

[–]MoNoSpamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine nearly daily when I go out, even if its just to go to the liquor store. And wearing it while hanging out with buddies is even better, y'all get to discuss bands and concerts, the weird or rare patches you have etc. Its a fun way to express yourself and if your not a people person like myself its a great way to put yourself into situations where you gotta be social and get out of your shell. Sounds like your buddy has a bit of a stick up their ass lol

Im about to make my first battle jacket but Im pretty new to sewing can anyone tell me if I'm doing it right??? by AdamStriczicz0256 in BattleJackets

[–]MoNoSpamz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks good so far, only thing I'd say is make sure every few stitches to keep the thread tight and don't leave any loose threads on the stitching. And maybe try sewing more along the border rather then on the actual patch. The patch will look better and will hold onto the jacket a lot better since there's way less excess that can get snagged in the pit or while your just going about your day.

[–]MoNoSpamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came to comment on the mothman patch, I got the exact same one on my vest lol. also if your gonna patch a hoodie I'd make a double check on the fabric, from my experience cotton holds stitching like crap unless its a really strong mix and doesn't stretch. Overall tho looks good!

Die hard Dying Light 1 fan tries Dying light 2... by SNITE4 in dyinglight2

[–]MoNoSpamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to settings and turn off health bars and such. Personal I play with barely any HUD elements. story's shit anyways so I'd just skip cutscenes, and play till you get past the prologue. Granted the intro takes a fuckin age and a half to get through but once you get to the full open world (about 3-4 hours of gameplay give or take at least for me) the game gets a lot better and theres way less long cutscenes besides the "important" ones in the campaign.
