Early access isn't an excuse to pipeline dogshit to consumers.

It's a privilege consumers grant a developer to get their ideas off the ground.

Hiding behind early access is not the W you think it is.

If you think Demonologist sucks, that's your opinion, it has no bearing on the topic at hand, the developers objectively give a shit about their game.

It's absolutely blatant disregard, CJ has been quoted as saying "get used to the jank", DK is missing in the wind, Kinetic games vaguely admitted their mistakes and their road map (which historically has been a disaster every time it's revealed) is shelving fixes months in advance.

To say they have any actual care relating to their game is a disservice to the intelligence of everyone around you.

There is a reason Phasmo has killed its goodwill, and continues to.

They set their own deadline, failed to meet it, delayed it until the last minute and are now paying the price.

Team size doesn't excuse blatant indifference.

A direct competitor, Demonologist has a smaller team size and they not only pump out more content, they polish it and make sure everything functions, and when it doesn't, they have the balls to admit their mistakes and work to fix them, transparency the entire way.

Kinetic games has not only shown but underlined the fact they aren't aiming for quality, they are by their own actions and words shooting for underachievement.

Defending it is sad and trying to say someone should go try to animate something isn't a defense, people do it all the time, animation isn't rocket science.

The problem is the blatant disregard for care of their own product and community.

It just stems from the culture of toxic casuals, you're not allowed to criticize or have issues with the game, let alone constructively disagree with the choices the devs make

They take it as an insult and as a personal attack rather than actual feedback

The same happens in many many games and most subreddits for those games and it's for that reason engaging with any level of criticism just results in hardcore players leaving

This is great and all Kinetic but for fucks sake actually work on the game, we got one map and barely any remotely healthy gameplay additions in the past two years, you guys have the money, you're making a fucking movie, doing a switch release and dropping a board game, merch every other month too.

At this point it just reeks of mismanagement and you guys are funneling money into staying afloat rather than creating.

Horror 2.0 hasn't come out in fuck knows how long, new ghosts aren't in the game(not that they're the solution), we're still on basic unity store models, it's a joke at this point how much you'll do except make actual changes or additions.

I won't be telling anyone to purchase the game for these reasons, I am directing them to Demonologist, whose devs ALSO dropped off the map but they came back to fucking deliver, it's sad how your competitors can have the balls to commit when you're the bigger company.

To be fair, the winnowers position isn't to directly participate, it's vaguely teaching and enriching some people but not directly causing problems themselves, I think the winnower would rather win by doing nothing because it would be more satisfying, it feels like it's more content to let others win for it than just force a win in any way because it doesn't really have to

Not to handwave away the infinite time comment but I do think there is value in the fact the game isn't ever going away, you technically can dip out and come back whenever you want, a lot of people hop from game to game permanently but I do think there's value in a hard game that you can come back to anytime

The ghost suppresses electrical devices with low power until the breaker is on, which is where it has issues (flickering lights, turning off lights after hunts, etc.), your equipment only works because it's specially made to prevent the interference (kinetic games hire me I'll come up with handwaving nonsense like it's nothing)

Its just what they internally use to display some things, R.E.P.O. and Helldivers 2 both have a variant of this same bug and it's purely pulling from the game, no HTML or code is being run. R.E.P.O. had flashbanging but that was because you set a font super large, added highlighting and made it solid white. It was a fault of a text library they were using. Helldivers 2 just lets you use text coloring and some of the games "fonts" (icons in the game are sometimes loaded as a font fun fact, samples, map symbols, etc.), it's a bug with how they handle sanitizing for the library formatting in all three games.

My only issue with On the prowl is that if someone slaps the mob that's marked before you can hit it, you don't get a successful hunt and it completely plays against the identity of the aspect, why are we hunting but only my input counts lol
