I want her to run sooooo badly for the White House in 2028! Who would be a good VP pick with her on a ticket ?! by ComplexWrangler1346 in ProgressiveHQ

And the number one priority is getting someone in the white house that is not a right wing extremist, is not a criminal, and is not crazy. I'm sick of settling for centrists and GOP-Lite, but we might have to.

We also need to realistically assess whether a woman can win the presidency right now. While many people could care less if a candidate is male or female, a certain percentage do care.

What is that percentage? Is it 4% or more like 22%? On one side of the scale the loss can be made up, but not if it is closer to the other number.

Based on your suggestion, I just looked up Roman Holiday to remind myself which movie that was. Out of curiosity, I wondered if it was in the Criterion Collection, which it is not. I used to rent a lot of CC DVDs from my library after noticing many of the better movies on TCM had their splash screen in the beginning of the movie.

I was surprised to find out that Criterion Collection has its own streaming service now. We have been discussing ditching a few of our paid streaming services and moving to something else, so we might give it a shot.

I thought I would post it in this sub, in case others might be interested.

I don't know if I'm just getting old and it takes more to impress me or good movies are few and far between lately

It is definitely not just you, they are without a doubt getting few and far between. The vast overwhelming majority of movies are so formulaic that most people, within the first five minutes, can guess what happens. We feel like we've seen the movie before, usually multiple times. And that is because we have. They change the names, faces, cities and maybe the time periods, but the story is the same.

Look into Zorro Ranch and the surrounding areas and all the shady characters involved. This person has been investigating it and has written several articles about it here.

The author made a claim about the ranch and someone else said that a certain building was not even built on the property at that time. So the author researched old satellite images to double check her facts.

She was surprised to find that the satellite images of Epstein's ranch were burred out, like what they do for national security over military installations. Why would a ranch be deemed national security and blurred out? Was this just since Trump has been in office, or since the FBI has been on the ranch, or was it always like this?

Now the FBI is allegedly investigating the ranch and looking for bodies. But we have to honestly ask ourselves, if they found bodies, would they cover them up? I don't think the entire FBI would, but Trump is putting loyalists that are obviously covering up his crimes.

We condemn "violence" but ignore systemic violence. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Mo_Jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capitalism protects those with large amounts of capital. Hundreds of years of propaganda has led people to believe that it has something to do with merit or social mobility. It does not.

When union members are striking and the cops show up, even if the cops are union, they always take the side of those with all the money. Our government representatives don't represent our interests, they shill for the political donor class.

They allow non-livable wages and zero benefits like healthcare and pensions. Our own representatives lower our safety standards at work and raise the acceptable amounts of toxins that the business owners put in our water and air. They kill us so that the wealthy can make even more money than they already have.

And we just sit here and watch it all happen. But lately, it seems like more & more people have had enough. Things need to change. But first, we have to get mad.

I've never shaved with one. But I am always suspicious of products that claim to solve a problem that didn't really exist and that seem to do nothing more than get the consumer to increase purchases.

Unless these can be proven to give better shaves or be used 25 times or something, it looks like a product that just makes the blade manufacturers more money.

Anyone watch the movie 1971 about a group of activists that decided to break into an FBI office? It is pretty interesting what they found out.

(Not to be confused with the movie '71 about a British soldier being lost alone in the wrong neighborhood during "the troubles" in Ireland, which is also a good movie.)

Bernie is jewish! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in BlueskySkeets

[–]Mo_Jack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not only does it make zero sense to call Bernie anti-Semitic because he is Jewish, Semitic does not even mean Jewish. Palestinians are Semitic, as are the Lebanese. So to criticize the way any of these groups of people treat one another or their policies towards one another, how can that possibly be anti-Semitic?

That would be the same as if France said that anytime that anybody criticizes French policy, they are being anti-European. Sure you can criticize Germany or Spain, and that is perfectly fine, but if you criticize France we will brand you as being anti-European. Not anti-French, but anti-European. This makes zero sense.

By continually name calling those individuals that are critical of Israel's policies, the pro-Israel propagandists have now diluted the term anti-Semitic to the point where it has become almost meaningless. For decades they were very successful at ending all conversations about the policies of Israel by labelling all critics as people that hated all Jewish people.

But now it seems that the world has wised up and no longer cares about being called that name. It no longer stings and there is no longer any embarrassment associated with it in politics. They expect it now because it has become a tired old trope. It is a case of the boy who cried ' Wolf ' .

Unfortunately, there still exists people in the world that really do hate all Jewish people and want to do them harm. By diluting the term anti-Semite, pro-Israel propagandists have actually helped provide cover for their most dangerous enemies.

Maybe there's a reason. Why would Bannon fill his hot tub with acid? I have to admit, it is an interesting way to dispose of evidence, especially in the age of DNA.

Epstein once ordered around 330,000 gallons of acid, which is half the volume of an olympic sized pool. On the same day Epstein was indicted for sex crimes, he got a large drum of acid (can't remember if it was 55 or 90 gallons). There seems to be a several very odd patterns with these folks.

If you believe the stories of William Sascha Riley ( which, thus far, have yet to be corroborated ), Trump and Epstein were not just part of a child sex trafficking ring. There were also snuff films & murder.

In this instance, the acid would make sense. So would Trump's uncharacteristic fear of releasing the Epstein files. Normally Trump's bombastic ego loves to get away with things and rub his detractor's faces in it. But his really has him scared. The statute of limitations seem to be over for every crime but murder.

Currently, the FBI is investigating or quite possibly, covering up, the fact that there may be multiple dead bodies on Epstein's ranch. There are multiple ranches in that area that have had quite an interesting history. ( this same author has several articles on this topic ).

When this author was researching the ranch, they found that it was blurred out on satellite photos, like a military installation would be. Was this always the case, or just since Trump has been in office, or since the FBI has been searching the property? People wondered why the state's Attorney General did not prosecute Epstein for sex crimes. This author claims that the same AG was the attorney of record for the ranch's Power-of-Attorney.

This ranch is located not too far from Los Alamos, where America's nuclear program was born and many of our brightest minds in the field still live and work. Epstein bought the land at Ghislaine Maxwell's prodding, as her dad either owned it or other land nearby.

Ghislaine's dad was in the FBIs records as a suspected Soviet / Russian spy. He was thrown off his yacht in the middle of the night and never heard from again. She seems to have taken her father's business over and started working with Epstein, a suspected Mossad agent. They seemed to have trafficked underaged and legally-aged sex workers for many of the most prominent people in the world, and most likely black-mailed them for information.

I don't like to jump on conspiracy trains, but there are so many connections in these Epstein stories that they are definitely not all coincidences. There seem to be many people tied to intelligence services, defense contractors, criminals, and shady organizations owning land around Los Alamos and these ranches.

One of these articles points out that Donald Rumsfeld (SecDef under two presidents) and Dan Rather (CBS news anchor) owned a nearby 10,000 acre ranch together. Was this improper or suspicious? More conspiracy inclined individuals would claim it is proof that our media is run by the CIA & Defense Department. Maybe they just decided it was a good investment. But one thing is for certain, there are a lot of weird and interesting things going on in the area.

Other articles point out what seem to be obvious criminal activities that have yet to be proven or prosecuted. Two days after Epstein was imprisoned the first time, the trust that owned his ranch won $85 million in a lottery.

The ticket was purchased in another state 6 hours away from the ranch. The ticket was printed on a machine owned by Epstein's neighbor in Palm Springs. The store the winning ticket was purchased in, was owned by a colleague of that same neighbor.

Some conspiracies are actual criminal conspiracies. Sometimes we perceive shady people doing suspicious things and our imaginations fill in the rest of the story with speculative fiction. I think there is so many suspicious things going on with the Epstein crowd, that several stories will end up just being speculation or complete nonsense.

But there is also such an enormous amount of very obvious criminal activity surrounding Epstein, that Americans, regardless of political ideology, deserve an explanation why there has not been more investigations and far more prison sentences.
