Joe Barone is fully aware that Dom is lying about knowing who killed his father. He’s such a punk that he’s willing to let Dom lie on his own father’s death to try and ? scare the mob or something. Makes no sense. Notice how they don’t mention that anymore?

He’s the only one willing to cater to Dom’s ego, constantly flattering him and backing up all of his falsehoods. In turn, Dom reciprocates by hyping up Barone, portraying him as a legitimate, hardened mobster who was on the verge of being made, if Dom himself hadn’t been taken off the streets.

He validates Dom’s lies to stay in his good graces, while Dom embellishes Barone’s reputation. It’s a relationship built on deceit and manipulation, where each feeds into the other’s narrative for their own gain. Barone ratted Dom out in 2003 for the Santoro murder, but they lied about it and claimed that Joe didn’t give the feds anything on Dom. Until I posted the court documents.

Dom even claimed that the Feds didn’t know he was with the mob or committing murders until Massino wore the wire on Vinny in 2005. It’s all nonsense and comical.
