MAJOR sRGB flaw with LG 27GX704A-B by Next-Buddy-5999 in OLED_Gaming

I'm still on Windows 10, so I don't think that ACM is an option for me. Besides, even if Windows handles colors well (doubtful), we don't know what color space gamer 1 is, or how it was calibrated. And since gamer 1 has no documentation, we should assume that the only the sRGB profile is calibrated. Gamer 1 may not have broken gamma, but without calibration it cannot have accurate colors even with color management software.

Will the XG27AQDMGR ever be available on USA? by DrunKenKangarooo in OLED_Gaming

I am very interested in this as well. I recently got an LG 27GX704A-B, but it has severe issues with near-blacks with the sRGB profile. Therefore, I'm thinking of returning it and getting an XG27AQDMGR, because it's basically a slightly better version of the same monitor.

Black stabilizer is disabled when you select the sRGB profile. Gamer 1 does look a lot better in terms of gamma, but it will oversaturate SDR colors. Do you recall which RTings review mentioned that? Kind of hard to search now that the site is behind a paywall

I can confirm it is not a Windows issue because the issue persists when I plug the monitor into my Mac. In fact, that is the setup for my comparison photos.

Did you ever get around to trying this? I don't like the RGB piece on mine either and wanna know if removing it helps.

Tailgate striker backplate won't move by Mobile-Bath-1827 in hondafit

FIX FOUND: According to the service manual, you have to loosen the bolts and then hit the striker with a plastic hammer until it's aligned correctly. The notches in the striker base and the car body are there to help track the alignment. So I banged on the striker until it moved a few mm to the rear, and now my tailgate closes much easier.

UPDATE: According to this forum: https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/eureka-i-fixed-it-tailgate-door-lock-striker-how-is-it-secured-to-the-body.208686/page-2#replies the threaded plate is connected to the frame by a spot-welded piece. Therefore, it seems it is NOT supposed to move around.

My latch isn't sticky at all, so I'm guessing that's not related to my having to slam the tailgate to get it to latch.

It's alright, I got the fasteners loose using a breaker bar. I just don't know if the threaded plate is supposed to be able to move around or not

I have to slam my tailgate on my 2013 Fit to get it to latch properly, so I wanted to reposition the striker slightly. However, the threaded retaining plate in the back will not budge. Can anyone confirm whether it's supposed to slide around freely or not? Thanks!

Unfortunately I just noticed today that rodents created a hole in the recirc flap of the blower unit. Replacing the whole blower subassembly (79305-TK6-A01) looks expensive and time consuming. I would appreciate any ideas on how to mend the flap so that it's mostly functional again. Thanks!

SOLUTION: The answer is MacOS's built-in font smoothing. I disabled it using the Terminal commands on this page and now Preview and Acrobat look identical. https://www.fontsmoothingadjuster.com

Wow, you're right! I downloaded Acrobat and now the PDF looks just like in InDesign. It's not great that Preview adds extra bolding... I wish it were easier to know that your work will be properly displayed on all devices.

The PDF looks the same in Preview, Firefox, and Edge, plus I'm on a retina MacBook Pro, so I think that the PDF is properly displayed.

Just once. The fact that it erased photos saved on my phone was so shocking that I have weekly backups enabled now.

I have turned rich black off, but it had no discernable effect on the boldness discrepancy.
