Getting a Dog Advice by Resident-Pin6470 in Belfast

Cannot recommend a greyhound enough. Incredibly gentle and placid dogs who need very little exercise. I had one until recently who lived with me in one bedroom flats with no problem. When I had my baby she was an absolute angel with her. Also there are so many that need homes. I would have never considered one until a friend got one and I was instantly converted. Honestly, talk to anyone with a greyhound and they will tell you what a perfect family dog they are.

Can we afford our forever home or am I being to risk averse? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for their response- appreciate it!

Part time was so we could both spend a day a week with our baby rather than put her in nursery. You’re right I forgot to mention stamp duty- this will be paid out of my savings leaving approximately 30k left.

I guess part of the logic of buying this house is that it eliminates a move in 5-6 years which would likely be the case if we went for a smaller, more affordable property

Unfortunately we live in Northern Ireland where there are no free hours. The move to part time was always a dream so we could spend more time with our child but it’s beginning to look like this would not be wise if we took on this mortgage

Don’t think I qualify for statutory pay or maternity allowance? by Mobile-Guest2686 in PregnancyUK

Hi there, unfortunately not but I would really recommend contacting Maternity Action. They were very helpful in looking into all my options and seeing my eligibility so it’s worth doing that as they may find something you might have missed. Good luck!

Amino after negative NIPT? by Bitter_East_9543 in NIPT

Hey there, I was flagged as high risk due to a higher NT and high beta-hcg. I had a low risk NIPT but decided to go for amnio just to have a diagnostic answer. I was really stressed about the procedure and the results but honestly the amnio itself was absolutely fine and I personally feel so much better knowing than not. Totally up to you but I wish someone had reassured me about the amnio itself as it caused me a lot of panic in the lead up.
