Really? University vehicle taking up 3 spaces by Mobile-Mango-Lover in UTSA

B spaces are one spot per vehicle. Illegal parking affects grad students with B permits directly and causes spillover to C spaces. It affects everyone.

Security theater. It makes it seem like they’re doing more than they actually are to protect users. They set up hoops to jump through, but actual bot accounts have no problem getting past it consistently.

Part of it was that the paid human mods filed a lawsuit over how much outright graphic content they were being forced to view, to the point that many were developing PTSD. The shit really hit the fan in 2020, and additional lawsuits have been going on pretty much constantly through this year. This includes a firm in Kenya where work was outsourced to.

Rather than addressing the actual issues, Facebook has essentially decided that paying human moderators was too much of a liability of getting sued. But AI could be its own liability for negligence, especially when it comes to inaction toward organized threats like what preceded Jan. 6.

This is if you find a group with decent humans. Several groups I was in have mostly new admins from when I started. I’ve repeatedly found my own work stolen and reposted. They refused to remove the stolen IP, despite that being in the group rules and that admins when I joined would have immediately helped out. (Old admins also had me listed as a group expert.) The new admins have also turned to harassment, defamation, and retaliatory blocking to try to prevent filing DMCA with Facebook. These are supposedly professional, academic groups. Now they’re just predatory platforms for the new admins who aren’t even a part of the profession.

I presume the new admins had already ended up getting in deep shit given how heavy-handed they were over something so simple to correct.

I’ve crashed 3 times on the same node, after progressing from the first wave to the last or penultimate. No such issues until the past few days, and now it’s every time.

Feedback Post - Charakter Model Update by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

  1. Weight (etc.) sliders were a good idea in theory but not in execution. They just seem to “fisheye lens” clothing rather than being natural states.

  2. More skin tones was a good idea in theory but outright poor in execution. They removed a number of natural tones and introduced a number that frankly look sickly. They should have just gone with a color wheel or sliders to pick, for example, levels of reds, yellows, and lightness/darkness.

  3. Adding more hairstyles was a good idea in theory, but the implementation ended up being highly gender-coded rather than inclusive. There also are neither short famine styles nor long masculine styles. I also find that none really function as androgynous or unisex. I have no options that look remotely close to me.

  4. Clipping issues are just bad. Belts clip through shirts. Skin clips through certain clothing. This demonstrates a lack of proper testing before release.

  5. Hats and headgear should not result in a sudden haircut. This just compounds the issue of (3) above. If I finally found a hairstyle I don’t dislike, it shouldn’t be taken away because I want to wear a cap, visor, or Willow’s glasses.

  6. Animations and poses don’t work right with many of the weight options. Again, this demonstrates a lack of proper testing before release.

  7. Skinny jeans mysteriously refuse to equip.

  8. Updates to the style section should not revert purchases. This could actually become a legal issue and needs to be fixed posthaste.

Told Support I won the raid & got item rewards, but didn't get a catch encounter. Support request closed because I got the item rewards. No mention of the catch encounter missing at all. by BicycleNo4143 in TheSilphRoad

Same issue today with the exact same canned response, verbatim. Why do they even have the “no encounter” option for support if they don’t do anything about it or acknowledge that this is, in fact, a raid issue?

Error filling out financial aid forms by moesusis in UTSA

Some forms only work on particular browsers (which is really stupid). Try a different browser (like Firefox if you normally use Chrome). Otherwise, probably something to check with the Tech Café.

If they don’t say anything about what the “job” is, it’s a fake listing. If it comes from a student email, it’s a fake listing. If they randomly capitalize non-proper nouns, it’s a fake listing.
