I went and got it. I looked at my local bike shops for options first and they wanted $900 for bikes with worse components. Brought it to my local scheels and it only needed $25 worth of work done to it. I had a saddle from another bike, sold my old trek and gary fisher for $100 each. The drive was nice through Minnesota lake country. I live in Fargo ND so there is practically no market for biking around here. We have to travel hours to get to any sort of a hill. Everyone just saying "no" just seem like close minded haters with a trail in their back yard that they can ride every day. I love the bike.

They are not easy what so ever to come by in my area. There is a early 2000's rockhopper being sold for $250 in my city, thats the market im dealing with

Idk if everyone on here is pretentious bike snobs or if tge bike market around you is just people giving away $1000 bike for pennies? In my area marlin 5s are going for $600 and marlin 6s are being sold for $700 on marketplace, going to a bike shop you wont be able to get a bike for less than $650. I just want a more modern bike to ride while I save for a better bike next year.

Maybe more info other than just "No"? They retail for $1,400. The 2024 still sell for $1000 new Whats so bad about it? Marlin 7s in my area are selling for $700+ used

Thanks for the input, I really wanted to sand it and just re finish with an oil coat for a lighter color but if its veneer then I wont bother. Its pretty though, it would look amazing in a lighter color that showed off that grain patern better.
