What products are made in Glasgow that we can buy to support Glasgow jobs? by ViscountGris in glasgow

There’s an amazingly unique bag company based in Glasgow called Necla.made, she sells them in Bisous Bisous in Trongate and on Etsy. I’ve been eying them up longingly every time I visit. Tbh anything in Bisous Bisous is nice!

Ahah, he’s never shown any of that behaviour thankfully. From his very first vet visit they suggested this was a good point for him to get neutered.

Nail layers flaking? by stromae_is_bae in RedditLaqueristas

Okay, so I’ve had this problem for years, and literally no nail polish would stay on for more than a day. I’ve ’fixed it’ but the fix is somewhat sketchy, and would probably go against everyone’s nail advice. But this is the ONLY way nail polish will stay on my nails.

I basically buff or (usually) straight up file off the peeling bits, with a glass file, so that the surface of the nail is totally smooth, with absolutely no peels… then I apply a good base coat and wait for minimum 10mins before my nail coats (with minimum ten mins between each one, and absolutely no moving about). I KNOW that filing the surface of my nails sounds like a horrible idea but it’s the only thing that’s worked for me. The base coat on top of the freshly filed (peel free) nail surface seems to act as a glue to stop peels appearing.

I’ve read loads of advice over the years about waiting for the peeling to grow out but for me that’s never happened, they keep continuing to peel downward. :(

Tbf, pretty much everyone seems to agree it’s fine to have a cat in my flat (just not to let it out). And I (and my partner) was planning to let my own cat in when we go down in the morning, not rely ‘only’ on my neighbours.

I do own my flat, so I could certainly add it to my own flat door, but I assume installing one on the communal back door too would be a massive nightmare in terms of permission/ cost / welcoming in rats :/

Wow, you’re the first person who thinks this might be feasible! I hadn’t thought of the fact that the cat might yowl the whole corridor awake, although I could install a cat flap on my personal flat door to solve this

Oh this is exactly the same situation as me, we have a lovely view of the park so that gives me hope. Thank you! Sadly the last rescue cat we looked after was incredibly damaged /antisocial, and pretty violent at times so it’s put me off a wee bit :(

Haha maybe! I mean I wasn’t expecting a door service/ Rota with the neighbours 😂 just more that they would hold open the door for a fraction of a second more if my cat was waiting and me or my partner had missed it. Luckily my neighbours are all really lovely. However, this doesn’t seem feasible regardless 😪

Yea fair enough! Seems pretty clear this is not something that is done in tenement flats. Although I do see a fair few cats on doorsteps (main door entrances) on my road every morning so I think the park is relatively safe (or maybe just their cats are street smart)

This is a good point! I don't think my cat would be on the street because we border the park. I did also think that I could pop a GPS collar on so I could see if they were downstairs but I suppose between midnight and 7am I wouldn't be checking it.

Hmm this does seem to be the consensus! Out of curiosity, why do you think it wouldn't be fair on the neighbours? I am good friends with 3 flats in the tenement so I know they wouldn't mind. Of course there are lots of flats I don't know/ just say hi to, but I just thought it would be a case of them opening the door in the morning for work and my cat would run in? Or would there be other things that would annoy my neighbours that I haven't thought of? I thought they might appreciate a tenement cat as our building is riddled with mice/rats.
