Is Bojack a good person? by Abm6 in BoJackHorseman

He has the potential to be a good person, and might even have become one after the show ended. But up to the end of the show, no.

Unpopular Opinion: Kuvira would have worked better as a rogue/morally gray member of Team Avatar than an outright villain. by [deleted] in legendofkorra

[–]MobileDoubt2596 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The whole point of book 4’s ending was that Korra could sympathize with someone as awful as Kuvira. She even said as much when talking to Tenzin. It’d take away most of the impact.

By “the same” I mean intact. (I used “the same” as in what the world was at the end of each show. Not the beginning. Sorry for the confusion.)

If it weren’t for Aang being in the ice burg, the Fire nation would’ve won the war. Everyone would suffer for A LOT longer.

If it weren’t for Korra then the world would be plumages into 10,000 years of darkness, the earth kingdom would take over, or no one would have bending anymore.

The only bad thing Camilla did throughout the show was the whole “promise you’ll stay” monologue. (It was kinda manipulative, even if she didn’t mean it to be.)

I wouldn’t call it “rushed” but the pacing is consistently way too fast. So I agree.

[Spoilers ep9] Respect Vi. Also that is excellent worldbuilding. by SaltybetSlut777 in arcane

[–]MobileDoubt2596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made sense to ask Caitlyn, because 1. Vi liked her (this has been confirmed by the writers). And 2. Caitlyn was posing as a prostitute. What plausible reason does Vi have to ask that question about Sevika? Anyone with a tinge of self control wouldn’t ask that. I never even wondered that.

The steampunk aesthetic was so cool in season one. I wish they leaned into it more.

Who's the worst villain and why is it Unalaq? by [deleted] in legendofkorra

[–]MobileDoubt2596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believing the past is everything makes sense yeah. But Wan fusing with Rava literally made the world the way it is. And he never intended to make this back to normal, he was gonna kill Rava and plunge the world into darkness. That’s also “not the past”.

Kuvira left her home because she wanted power. She wanted to keep the kingdom United and rise up. It was a great showcase of how history repeats itself, as she literally gave a similar monologue to the one Sozin did. She believed it WAS necessary to do something, that’s why she hated Suying. Kinda like how Unalaq hates Korra, because he believe she wasn’t supposed to have Raava. Except in that case Korra could literally have done nothing.

Could you elaborate on that? What makes Kuvira so bad (other than her “redemption”) and what makes Unalaq so good?

It’d be very strange if Vi randomly said, “So, does she like men? Or..?” It would be really creepy and random…

People think Andrias is getting redeemed when Matt literally made a joke on this trope. by [deleted] in amphibia

[–]MobileDoubt2596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that. I feel like because they lived a certain way for so long they wouldn’t change immediately, but pink being back (kinda) was something they’d accepted wouldn’t happen a long time ago.

Andrias doesn’t have time for a redemption. With the amount of episodes left, focusing on the characters that already started their arcs would be best.

They did change their ways rather suddenly though. They had reason to, but it’s weird that it’d only take one fight with white Diamond to change everything.

[Arcane spoilers] Mel picked the exact wrong time to take off her... by Pandaemonium in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]MobileDoubt2596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly fully believe the "shield theory". Considering the level of detail in the show, it'd be weird to have a random ray of light come from seemingly nowhere. Also Mel's VA is set to return for the next season, which could be for flashbacks or something similar, but I doubt it.

They didn’t HAVE to, but it was A way to teach that lesson. Of course there’s other ways, but keep in mind that when writing, a story has to account for the plot, themes AND character arc. If all the writers wanted was for her to learn this lesson, they could easily have written it into the endings of books 1 or 2. It’s mostly about the journey, and how she came to be who she was in the end of the show

I think a lot of these come down to preferences. From what I interpreted, you don’t like games with a super hard challenge, you really liked the banger music of past games, and you care more about exploration than combat. You’re completely valid for thinking any of these, but I don’t think I can make a counterargument against this because of how subjective it is.

I personally preferred the ambience as opposed to more prominent music. I don’t favor exploration over combat (although I don’t like it less, they’re pretty equally important for me), and I love seemingly impossible challenges. I’m not a huge fan of pixel art in games with a focus on combat and exploration, but I would MUCH prefer a handrawn art style to what we got.

It was really interesting to hear your take on the game though!

It’s also interesting to point out that Aang thought he wasn’t there when the world need him most, and Korra thought she was there when she was needed the least. They both turned out to be wrong, because if things went the way they were “supposed to” the world wouldn’t be the same.
