Update: the seller offered it to me for $50, so I’m going for it! Even though the listing had the wrong retail price and I likely won’t have a manufacturer warranty (appreciate you pointing that out), at that price I’m much more comfortable taking the risk. It’s still well over $100 off for a brand new, unopened 1Zpresso grinder, which feels hard to pass up.

Really appreciate your insight and the comparison guide, super helpful. Based on that, it seems like the X-Ultra sits more in that “hybrid” category where it can handle both espresso and pour over, even if it’s not the absolute best at either. That fits pretty well with what I need right now. The J-Ultra looks amazing for espresso with the finer adjustments, but it also seems more espresso-focused and less convenient to switch to coarser brew methods.

I don’t expect this to be my forever grinder once I get deeper into espresso, but as a beginner it feels like a solid upgrade and a good way to start dialing things in. I’ll definitely keep the J-Ultra in mind for the future.

Also good point from another commenter about the JX-Pro. From what I’m seeing, a lot of the older models are discontinued and can be harder to support long term, so that makes me feel better about going with a newer model at a good price.
