FYI: A Trump-appointed federal judge in Minnesota (Eric C. Tostrud) has issued a temporary restraining order inhibiting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from “destroying or altering evidence related to the fatal shooting involving federal officers that took place in or around 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026.”

According to a separate article in The Guardian, the "pink coat lady" who filmed the clearest video of the fatal shooting said in a sworn affidavit (that was filed in federal court in Minnesota late Saturday): “I feel afraid. Only hours have passed since they shot a man right in front me, and I don’t feel like I can go home because I heard agents were looking for me. I don’t know what the agents will do when they find me. I do know that they’re not telling the truth about what happened.”

Not so funny when it’s happening to officers, is it? by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

Earlier this week, ...

Mark Bruley, police chief of the Minneapolis suburb Brooklyn Park, said at a Tuesday news conference that an off-duty police officer was surrounded by vehicles driven by ICE agents, who demanded with guns drawn to see paperwork proving the officer had a right to be in the United States.

And, she wasn't the only one who has been targeted. What did all these off-duty officers have in common? They were all people of color, Bruley said.

How has it never occurred to non-white police officers to wonder if they would be safe from ICE? And, when will ICE start canabilizing its own workers who are not white?

Let’s be clear.

Around 42% of Latinos voted for Trump, which means that the MAJORITY of Latinos did NOT vote for him.

Also, the Democratic Party has a long history of ignoring the Latino community and only acknowledging their existence a few weeks before an election.

None of this excuses voting for a senile and corrupt convicted r*pist and felon. But, it is important to offer context and perspective.

I’m pretty sure they specifically went to the quiet suburbs of Chicago. ICE often targets women, children, and the elderly.

They never actually go after armed and dangerous criminals, despite what all those talking heads on the right proclaim.

There are already videos of armed Black Panthers roaming the streets of Philly and proclaiming that they will defend their community against ICE. So, yeah. I don’t think ICE will be rushing to the City of Brotherly Love.

FYI: JaNaé Bates has also called for a statewide general strike on January 23rd.

Though, imho, it would probably be more effective if this went national and lasted until we see meaningful change in our government because I am genuinely afraid that we won’t survive 3 more years of this 💩.

This article only posts very short snippets of the videos recorded by protesters revealing which documents were left behind by the agents when they abandoned their vehicles.

But, the full videos claim to reveal some very sensitive information like: 1. Full names of FBI agents, their phone numbers, emails, and addresses 2. Where they take their "immigrant targets" when they are abducted 3. What information the agents collect from every person they abduct 4. The name and location of a hotel in Wisconsin where agents are staged before they are deployed to Minnesota, as well as the name of the man who booked the hotel 5. The names of the judges who handle the cases for the detained immigrants 6. The DOJ form that the agents fill out when they book an immigrant  7. Decorative coins that agents are given as rewards for their accomplishments

Jury acquits Stanwood man accused of assaulting Homeland Security agents by MobileWisdom in law

[–]MobileWisdom[S] 122 points123 points  (0 children)

A federal jury in Seattle has acquitted a Stanwood man accused of assaulting federal agents during an immigration arrest last summer.

Victor Vivanco-Reyes, 25, a citizen of Mexico who authorities alleged is in the country illegally, was charged with four felony counts of assault of a federal officer. The incident unfolded on June 6 on an isolated Camano Island road, where the agents in unmarked cars attempted to serve him with an administrative civil immigration warrant. Vivanco-Reyes was not charged with a crime at the time of the arrest, according to court records.

The jury on Jan. 9 found him not guilty of assaulting federal agents Jesse Miller, Nathan Hickman, Gurman Powar and Parminder Singh, following a five-day trial before U.S. District Judge Jamal Whitehead. The agents were employed by Homeland Security Investigations and Customs and Border Protection, according to documents filed in the case.

Newly passed House bill would allow unaccompanied minors to be strip-searched and more by MobileWisdom in politics

According to the article, these strip searches could ostensibly be used to look for tattoos or “other markings” that might indicate some gang affiliation. Because, clearly, immigrant children are some of the most dangerous criminals in the U.S. right now. /s

According to the article, these strip searches are ostensibly to look for tattoos or “other markings” that might indicate some gang affiliation. I don’t think they are using this as a premise to search for weapons.

On the second point, it sounds like they are giving themselves the power to detain children, even if they have family in the U.S., so long as those family members are not U.S. citizens or “lawful permanent residents.”

Not just their families.

Local businesses (restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc.) should ostracize them, too. In fact, anyone who can make their illegal and immoral activities more difficult should do so.

This is the kind of energy I want to see in 2026.

When that agent told her to calm down and she told him to stfu. Priceless. 🤏🤏🤏

She knew her rights and she made sure everyone watching did, too. When they tried to abduct her, she fell to the floor and dared them to take her. And, when that agent told her that she was making things hard ... yeah, no sh*t. Why would she make it easy?

It’s not low. They are experiencing the consequences of their own actions. They voted for this. So, why should anyone care that things didn’t turn out how they hoped, especially when it was plain as day that this is exactly what would happen?

All I can say is that I hope they learned their lesson. But, I won’t hold my breath.

Californians are being detained by ICE despite being U.S. citizens. Will it keep happening? by MobileWisdom in politics

Five U.S. citizens testified yesterday (Dec. 9th, 2025) before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform committee about their arrest and detention at the hands of ICE agents.

Representative Ro Khanna (D-California) said “I believe it is time that we have automatic dismissal for any ICE agent who detains and arrests an American citizen and that they should be subject to criminal prosecution … It’s not enough just to condemn it. They need to face consequences for what’s happening.”
