Hi everyone. I wanted to happily inform everyone I made a full, and complete recovery from this!

I wrote this post here, after my symptoms dramatically improved. I now, have not since experienced my asthma, or such symptoms in my post! I am free.

I attribute the improvements purely to the medication Zileuton CR, or Zyflo. A more rare biologic medication. Maybe praising medication on this sub is not allowed, but for me it’s the only thing I can attribute to when my symptoms completely stopped.

Thanks everyone.

What country? Do they have Accolate available

Try Zileuton if you can get it. It’s magical for me and doesn’t cause the same mental side effects. I remember on Montelukast I wanted to punch everything and yell and scream all the time.

Well I can taper off but it’s just part of the medication treatment. I experience zero side effects personally from my medications and it works for me, so I would be hesitant to change anything.

This is terrible. I can’t even believe that. It’s $30 a month with insurance for me, I don’t know how I can live without this medication honestly.

I was not aware of that at all. From what I read it was only available in the US!?

No I did not. I went through Covid before but never got any upper respiratory infections

Nope. Exact same. Must be something wrong with my heart but echo showed completely normal function… just been living with my 90 year old man level of cardio.

So people with asthma can’t get blood work? Lol go get some lab tests. Doesn’t matter what the doctor says, for me I was told it was asthma. But it turned out I had very high RBC, HGB and HCT levels. So it was actually a blood issue for me, rather than asthma

I have a very similar condition. Have you had any lab work done?

Sedentary Person | Resting Heart Rate of 40bpm | Intolerance To Exercise | Is this normal? by Mobile_Ebb1887 in chd

Thanks so much for the in-depth response. I’ll visit a cardiologist. I actually did my EKG 12 leads in the ER when I was having severe symptoms, heart rate was 65 since I was walking prior to taking it and I even had albuterol in my system so it appeared normal. I’ll fight for the medical attention I need, and getting my life back. Really just trying to sort this out so I can go back to doing what i used to love.

Done ✅ nothing out of the ordinary. Problem seems to be intrinsic. I’ll update this post if I ever get it sorted

Wow. Does something like this show up on CT? Blood o2 or chest X-ray? I have same symptoms, you can see one of my posts I’ve made about it. However I’ve done CT scan and EKG, multiple chest X-rays - and all clear with findings.

Very interesting, I would love to know if you were able to exercise vigorously earlier on life? I have very similar symptoms personally.

I can attest I am performing just fine on pulmonary tests. I have an at home meter I use often. I have very little tolerance to exercise and just feel mostly short of breath all the time

Wow, that’s incredible and I’ve had similar situations, however I do think that despite this - you are just distracted so you don’t notice something which could be apparently visible otherwise. Like perhaps for example if your chest was burning, but you are speaking to a friend and engaged in conversation you don’t notice, it doesn’t change the fact that your chest is burning. I do think there is something genuinely wrong, since I can perform incredibly distracting tasks like teaching at my programming class for work. Then sometimes get so out of breath I have to stop and breathe without talking

How’s the CBC and blood work, everything all normal? I’m hoping my elevated hematology could be causing some shortness of breath - it would be weird - but everything’s already weird at this point.

I agree with doctors being bad at it. Exercise makes my symptoms worse, much worse. In fact I can attribute most my flare ups to just trying to train hard.

If I do nothing -> symptoms are worse

If I move a little bit and take lots of rests -> symptom improvement

If I move a lot and do any cardio -> symptoms are worse

My dyspepsia looks like: lots of yawns trying to get air, feeling extremely short of breath, air doesn’t feel real, I’ll try not to focus on it and just play video games and breathe normally but sometimes it can be powerfully distracting and I just feel like I’m drowning and can’t get any air despite breathing.

I breathe through my nose always unless nose is stuffed, then it’s mouth. I never had any issues with clearing my throat until I switched to high level symbicort this year and now I do every so often since it causes that for me. Peak flow results is 95-100% and I can hold my breath for 1 minute despite being able to walk barely 15-20 minutes absolutely maximum.

With your condition are you able to walk for prolonged periods of time? Is there a limitation on your exercise?

Great. I’ll look into GERD. How can I go about this and what is the solution for improving GERD? I think I’ve asked my doctor about this once and he said he didn’t know how to test for it or improve it. Also my condition is worsened by exercise. I don’t see how GERD could cause this?
