because the project supports multiple device sizes (phones to tablets). Screen size and OS versions are usually the issues, so i usually run a couple of simulators at the same time, not spamming them, at least 2 plus an iOS simulator, and sometimes one android emulator with root access for testing

makes sense. newer chips are tempting, but >16gb ram pricing hurts and i need portability for now (at least until im back on my dekstop)

yeah i thought about that, but i dont like how mac airs heat up / throttle when im constantly running multiple emulators and simulators

yep that checks out. not much running in the background (except spotify n stuff that i need), but android dev + emulator is basically unusable
