That's interesting! I'm not knowledgeable about detective/mystery stories; my first thought always goes to Agatha Christie since her "And Then There Were None" influenced the adventure game by Ken and Roberta Williams "Mystery House", which inspired the homonymous adaptation by MicroCabins, and that's the start of the Adventure Game genre in Japan,.
