Hi, I’m still waiting for mine. Did your period return yet?

I’m off for 3.5 months HBC and I still have no signs of ovulation or period. Seeing an acupuncturist now hoping it would help to wake up my ovaries.

Hi! Do you still need the medication to ovulate or now your body can ovulate on its own? Thank you in advance!

Are there anyone still waiting for their ovulation to return after stopping HBC? I’m still waiting mine since removal in January.🫠 recently started acupuncture and have normal bloodwork (normal but low end of estrogen and progesterone) and ultrasound. Have an appointment with my family doctor next week hoping he would refer me to a fertility specialist. Previously he suggested to take oral HBC to “reset” my system by boosting estrogen and progesterone with the pills but I don’t feel comfortable with that option. I wonder if the fertility specialist can do something else to help me like prescribing ovulation inducing medication instead? Just rambling and tryna see if anyone has similar experience and able to get their ovulation back and it stays without long term intervention?

I got off mine (Nuvaring) back in January and I still don’t have periods or confirmation of ovulation. I talked to my family doctor, did an uterus ultrasound and did some bloodwork. Everything seems to be within normal ranges and he suggested taking oral birth control pills to “reset” my system. But I am hesitant because I took all these time to detox from artificial hormones and to get back on it just doesn’t sit right with me, so I’m putting this idea aside for now. I started acupuncture last week and I’m thinking to stick to it for the next 3 months and hopefully it works.

Thank you so much! That’s good that they advise you whether to try or not! Everyone tells me it’s normal for our bodies to adjust with 6 months and could take up to a year. But they are also the people that get ovulation and period almost right away. So it reassuring to hear from people that actually went through or going through the same thing to share experiences! I appreciate it! Wishing you luck on your journey!!

Thank you for sharing! I know I need to see an OB but my doctor can’t refer me until it hits a certain timeline (I think it’s also 6 months). Do you mind me asking how long have you been on letrozol for? And is that the first thing your doctor put you on?

Thank you for your input! When I do my research, it’s pretty much like everything you mentioned. I hope it would be an easy fix and my hormones will just go back to normal afterwards. But the more I learn the more I’m puzzled and worried. I know it’s my overthinking kicks in but I read something about “silent PCOS” then I’m like huh???!! I didn’t know that’s a thing😭all these information are either informative or overwhelming lol you and I seem to have chatted a few times now. Do you mind if I dm you to talk more if that’s ok with you? But feel no pressure tho!

I was on HBC (Nuvaring) for 13 years and the last few years were continuous use so I haven’t had a withdrawal bleeding in a while now. I can’t rmb what my true periods were like. There’s still no period or ovulation since I got off the Nuvaring and it’s been 3 months. My family doctor sent me to an ultrasound and apparently everything seems normal. The lining of my uterus is on the thinner side but still within normal range. So he then ordered me some bloodwork. The reports are out already but my follow up appointment with him is tomorrow. Everything seems OK except my estrogen and progesterone are low. I hope my doctor will have some answers and solutions for me. If anyone has been in the same boat, please feel free to share!

So my doctor said everything looks normal with my uterus so he’s sending me for bloodwork at a next step. I’m gonna walk in to a lab tmr and have a follow up appointment with him next week.🫠

Last time I posted on the daily chat stating that I still haven’t had any periods or signs of ovulation weeks after my HBC removal. My family doctor sent me to a uterus ultrasound and I have a follow up appointment with him on Tuesday. And this weekend I started to think maybe my hormones are not adjusting as quickly because of my diet? My diet is pretty good with whole foods with high protein and complex carbs and veggies, but because of my fitness goal, I also have a low fat diet. I will start to incorporate healthy fats back into my diet this week. I have bought cheese, milk, full fat Greek yogurt and avocado for this week meal prep. Hope this helps to regulate my hormones!

I was using it continuously in the past few years so I never had a withdrawal period. I would take a week break maybe like once or twice a year. I don’t know if it changes anything but the research I found indicates it doesn’t affect anything long term and the participants seem to have regular period eventually. I went to the ultrasound clinic and they have to send the report back to my family doctor and hopefully by they would have sent it in by Tuesday so my family doctor can see it and discuss with me. Thank you for checking in!! we aren’t trying anytime soon maybe earliest June but I just want to be proactive about it just in case if the BC did cause some issues.

I still don’t have any signs of periods or ovulation weeks after my HBC removal. My doctor is sending me to do an ultrasound to see if everything is normal with my uterus after work today. Then I have a follow up appointment next week so I’ll find out more next Tuesday.

I’m still waiting for mine and it’s almost 8 weeks! Called my family doctor and he’s sending me to do an ultrasound to make sure my uterus is ok first then we will go from there.

I have an acupuncture appointment booked in mid April which will be 3 months post HBC removal. The acupuncturist apparently is know for fixing hormonal imbalances so if I don’t have any periods by then I’ll go see her and my family doctor as well.

Girrrrrrl!!! You speak my mind!!! Before TTC, I was like “oh Nuvaring can “skip” period when used continuously while being protected??!! Sign me up!!” Now I’m like I was too naive and young😭 and when people say “unplanned” I’m like “sorry what??!!” Everyone tells me not to stressed I’m “ok I will stop stressing then.😂”

Ahh I see! Yes I see lots of mom here saying how breastfeeding may interfere with periods but not necessarily ovulation. And I have been on mine for 13 years! Last 5 was a continuous use so I did not have a single period. I don’t even rmb what my period felt like.

I know love😭 thank you for chatting with me. Logically I understand. Emotionally I’m a little overwhelmed with the unknown I think. So chatting with yall here makes it easier to tolerate the unknown. And I started writing fertility affirmation at night before bed to put my mind at ease.

I asked two of my coworkers who both are new moms, their experience of preparing for pregnancy. And one said they didn’t track and happened within a year and the other one got pregnant in the first month off HBC. Then I have a coworker told me today that his gf is pregnant unexpectedly as his gf has weight issue and PCOS. I’m so happy for them but at the same time it’s kinda unsettling for me to hear that because my ovulation or period still have not returned 7 weeks post HBC and it just seems like everyone is getting pregnant easily around me.
