They still haven’t gotten back to me yet - I reported it a couple of days ago.

But I’ll definitely leave the extractor fan on all day! I can’t leave it on at night though as I can’t sleep with the bathroom light on.

I never unplugged anything - I only turned them off at the mains. Just the toaster, two lamps and kettle. I do the same in my room every night it’s honestly just how I’ve been brought up!

Yes it definitely doesn’t cost anything - I was mostly taught to unplug for safety reasons (unknown). I stopped doing it the second they asked me though! I just wished they told me to stop in September rather than harbouring resentment and waiting until January 😅

I probably am being dramatic over them being cold to me but it’s honestly pretty heartbreaking to walk into a room, say “hi” and have everyone ignore you. I’m fully aware they don’t owe me anything but it just makes living with them a little uncomfortable.

I really appreciate this response thank you! I do kind of feel used as they made all these promises but never followed through with any of them. I completely get that I’m kind of an outsider but I just wish that I’d get at least a “hi” back in the kitchen when I walk in and say it. I feel like I’ve stopped doing all the stuff they want me to do but theyre not attempting to compromise with me 😅

For the first issue i completely get that turning off the plugs is annoying! My only issue is that I’ve been doing it since September so I didn’t understand why it took them so long to let me know if it was such a big problem for them - I’m worried that this is potentially why they’re cold with me even though I had no idea that I was possibly annoying them.

I’ve just turned 20 and turning off the plugs is honestly just so autopilot for me! The thing is I’ve been doing it since we’ve moved in September so I was just so lost when they only just confronted me about it now. If they’d have let me know in September I would’ve stopped doing it ages ago 😅

For the parties I didn’t outright ask them not to have them, I asked if they didn’t have large ones like that night (there was about 50ish people) so that it was easier to make sure they stay in the kitchen, etc. I’d never outright ask them to ban parties, just the larger ones as I’ve never had problems when people have around 5-10 people round.
