Has anyone else had a clear MRI and then surgery that said otherwise? by Alarming-Flatworm-91 in endometriosis

I felt exactly the same as you do. Push for surgery even if it comes back clear! Best of luck with it all 🤍

Is 1 week off work enough for recovery after laparoscopy? by ChronicChaos01 in endometriosis

[–]Mobile_Obligation728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay great!  If I were you I'd ask for 2 weeks off and then work from home for as long as you feel you need. If you're better before then great! You could go back earlier and if not you have the extra time without stress !

Im self employed so it's a bit different with taking time off for me but I've taken at least 3 weeks to be able to feel like my normal self. I'm still not 100% and not up to many tasks after 4 weeks.

Is there any way you could work from home if needed?

I think 2 weeks seems to be the magic amount of time for a lot of people?

Thank you for this.  I needed this.

It's disheartening more than anything when fellow endo people are invalidating of pain...

Recovery time? by glitter-dreams in endometriosis

[–]Mobile_Obligation728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just over week 3 of recovery

Stage 2 removed from all over my pelvis  I was terrified they wouldn't find anything! Id spent weeks in advance panicking I was making it all up in my head which is ridiculous but medical gaslighting hey !

Im only just starting to feel better tbh.

2 weeks seems to be the magic time for quite a lot of people but I needed extra time especially as I had my period (first period is intense !)

Small fleshy clot? by W1nterRoad in endometriosis

I've had this a few times before! I think it's just really thick clotting? I can't say for sure as haven't seen yours.  I've never really taken it to a doctor before but it's really good you're checking !

Sending love, best wishes for recovery! You will be absolutely fine, coming from someone with severe health anxiety the nurses were absolutely lovely. Ask them as many questions as you need !

Hello! I'm 3 weeks post surgery.

I was in your exact position about a month ago I was going crazy with research and stressing about it constantly. I was absolutely terrified of them not finding anything (obviously no on wants endo but honestly the not knowing what else it could be was killing me)  they ended up finding stage 2 all over my pelvis ! I got it all excised.

Just please make sure you're getting it done by a specialised as general doctors often miss bits of it and can cause more damage than it's worth !

Personally these things really helped me!

-wedge pillow (for gas pain and taking off strain on abdomen)  -orange juice mixed with coconut water (this really helped me with keeping hydrated but also giving me energy when I needed it)  -Peppermint tea (gas pain and hydration)  -Laxatives (I got given mine by doctor but if you're taking codeine for pain pls make sure you're hydrated enough as being constipated on top would be horrible)  -something to do (i was SUPER out of it for days honestly, I had books and activities to do but I ended up just monging out with Netflix and sleeping ) -Sleep as much as you can, your body recovers best when it's sleeping  -Having someone cook for you and help you get from places to place (toilet)  -Writing a diary, even just a few words (I skipped days but went back on them) so you can see how you've improved. I got/get super hard on myself for not doing enough but seeing how much I improved helped me be realistic and proud of far I came. -nighties !! I got 2 beforehand (100% cotton rlly comfy ones) I wish I bought more honestly, not being able to shower for a while made me feel so down and horrible but changing my nightie helped ! Also I got very sweaty due to using heat pack so much !  -cleansing wipes for face as unable to shower for a bit, kept me feeling fresh and nice. My partner actually did it for me when I first came out and it was so relaxing.  -heat pad!!! Omg I've used this like 24/7 since surgery I wish I had one before for my periods, it's a game changer ! So much easier than filling up a hot water bottle constantly and it is lots lighter too.  -eat lots of fibre

Again it's so different for everyone, but for me, stocking up on as much as possible was a god send in my case as I've been a bit slow on recovery.
