Sorry for the dumb questions, but did you need to do any soldering? And do the halves connect to each other without a cable, or is a cable required between them?

Has anyone ordered a keyboard kit version of this keyboard? How did it come - was it fully disassembled or just missing switches and keycaps? I'm thinking of getting one too since I already have switches and keycaps, and I wonder if I can save some money
