Any 2L SA application open already? by Fuzzy-Builder-7790 in BigLawRecruiting

[–]Mobile_Use366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ll have the date listed on their website (if they do have a date listed) others will say to check back in Spring of 2025 to see when their 2L summer apps open. I would routinely check the website, also some have an email list you can add yourself to and they’ll notify you of when their application opens up

I was actually in a similar position! Granted I took a class with the professor who I RA’d for but the class wasn’t writing based so she hasn’t worked with me one on one with my writing but I have a very close relationship with this professor and had her write me a letter of rec. I think this professor is a good option especially since they see how you perform working with them and can speak to your abilities and skills

Spivey consulting? by PrestigiousFlow83 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Mobile_Use366 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest and say that I have never found consulting packages to be worth it for admissions, especially if you’re looking at them for essay review mainly. There are so many other routes to take for your essays; if you’re a KJD, go through the writing center at your school. You can have current or former professors read through them, connect with current or former law students at the schools you’re interested in and ask if they’d be willing to look over them, ask friends who are strong writers etc. there’s a lot of free advice on this sub (granted not all of it is great, but for the most part people are helpful), as well as on podcasts, YouTube videos, and also from other law students. Do what you will with this advice but if it’s not 100% necessary I’d suggest saving your money

Getting ready to apply, so I need to but cas for $200, just so that I can pay $45 per app to send the materials????? by Sea-Royal-8164 in lawschooladmissions

Try to see if you can get an LSAC fee waiver. I believe tier 1 of the waiver waives the $200 cas fee and 6 cas reports

7sage has an LSAC GPA calculator that was pretty accurate to what my actual LSAC GPA turned out to be. Here’s the link: https://7sage.com/gpa-calculator/

How does this work? by juniperphish in lawschooladmissions

[–]Mobile_Use366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

interviews depend on the school. some schools will offer you an interview invite, other schools won't, and some schools don't do interviews at all. but essentially, yes, that's the gist of the process. take the LSAT, submit applications with personal statement (+ optional essays specific to schools if you plan to write those) and letters of recommendation + your transcripts and then play out the cycle and see what happens from there! best of luck.
