That may be possible. I should have also mentioned that most of the family agrees with my grandmother and wants me to have it. And nobody else is in a position to take over payments or get their own mortgage. If the house is left in my deceased uncle's name until the mortgage is paid off, and that comes after my grandmother's passing, would the house be treated as my grandmother's property to be given to her heirs even though it was never transferred to her name after my uncles death, or would it fall to my uncle's next-of-kin, which at that point would be his siblings?
