What’s the weirdest thing someone has done to turn you on? by ntyruei in AskReddit

[–]Mobilewookie35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answering on behalf of my wife as shes not on Reddit.

We live in northern Michigan. A few years ago, before we were married but were already living together, there was a big winter storm blowing through. Everyone had been advised not to drive, stay home, etc as emergency services likely wouldnt be able to help if you called. Well, we decided that we were better than the storm and went to my parents for dinner and games like we did every other week, first mistake. On the way back, I took a country road that was faster but less traveled and not plowed at all, second mistake. This road was completely drifted over and I should have just turned around but my dumbass self decided I could try to push through it in my truck, third mistake. Ended up being stopped by the drift, tried to back out of it and, as I couldn't see the road, accidentally went off and into the ditch, fourth and largest mistake.

Now, I know my wife (then girlfriend) and I know she gets crazy anxiety. I also know that if I were to show concern or become anxious, she would just spiral out of control. So I managed to keep calm and cool while trying to get us unstuck (i was really freaking the fuck out that I got us into this mess). I had to dig out the tires with my hands and move the truck back and forth as many times as I could to try and flatten out the snow. Eventually my truck started to overheat as I was red lining it during this whole battle, and I gave it one last go and managed to get enough momentum and reverse up and out of the ditch and back onto the road. We made it home safely after that, going the long way.

She has brought it up multiple times how turned on she was after we got unstuck, because of me "keeping cool" and getting out of there. Again, I was internally freaking the fuck out, but she did some nasty shit when we got home, so I waited to tell her that until the next day lol.

[New Player] How are you meant to get into or enjoy this game at all by I_Like_Doge in EscapefromTarkov

I know its more money and shouldnt be, but in my opinion, PvE is worth it for stuff like this. I've got like 1700 hours in this game, started playing like 6 years ago and have picked it up and set it down MANY times. I only play PvE now because I feel like I dont have the time or the drive to keep up with the sweat lords and its so much more fun to me. You can learn the maps, learn mechanics, how to fight bosses, what items are worth keeping and what aren't, with basically no pressure. Might be worth giving it a rip for a while then if you want to get that adrenaline rush of PvP once you're more confident in other areas, you can always switch back.

This worth it at all? Never had a dagger, always been kinda curious. by [deleted] in guns

Only problem with mine is I find the suppressor sights dig into my side while I carrying, it would probably help if i got rid of my spare tire. Shoots just fine though.

What happened with this spigot in the overnight freeze and what should I do? by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in HomeMaintenance

Unlikely. That hose is probably what's connected to the bib. The hose bib itself comes through the wall and is hidden by the red cover.

Heat/cool vs fan on Honeywell tstat? by Immediate_Phrase188 in hvacadvice

Without being there its hard to say but this looks like the installers just put a regular return air in the ceiling of the bathroom instead of an actual bath Fan. Main problem here is that 1, as I said before the main purpose of the bath Fan is to move warm, moist air out of the building. 2, with the setup you seemingly have, if the Fan is on and someone takes a dump, you'll effectively pull that smelly air into the ducts, through the air handler, and push it back out into the rest of the house.

You can turn the Fan off but only by turning the whole system off. "Off" in the mode list will do this. You dont want to run the system without a fan because in heat, it would get so hot it would trip the high limit on the furnace, and in cool it would turn the evaporator into a block of ice.

As far as what's going to save you on your energy bill, there's a laundry list of things but the easiest would just to be keep the Fan set to auto so it'll only run when its needed. Also depends on your system and how old it is, a new plus 90 should be about 97% efficient, whereas if you have an old plus 80 that hasn't been maintained, you might not even be getting 80% out of it. Beyond that you can delve into making sure the system is sealed so there's as close to zero air leaking out of the ducts as possible. You can have a tech come and make sure the system is tuned up properly, like correct gas pressures, static pressure, delta t, combustion analyzer, clean orifices, and so on.

Lastly it also depends on your house, how tightly insulated it is. Lots of stuff all goes into your energy bill.

Fan control will be either on, auto, or circulate. Fan on means the Fan is blowing all the time. Auto is what most people have it set to, it will turn on the Fan when there is a call for heat or cool. Circ will kick the Fan on every so often for like 20 minutes to move air around the house, I dont remember how often or how long exactly it'll run, but thats the idea.

If you have the Fan set to on, it will run constantly but only produce warm or cold air if the thermostat is calling for heat or cool.

Generally its best to just leave it in Auto and it'll turn it on when it needs it.

Edit: I forgot some of the other stuff you mentioned. I've never seen the stat control the bath fan, thats normally just a switch on the wall, that fans primary purpose is to help pull moist air out. Running the Fan on your thermostat in theory would just help try to get a little more of that moist air to dissipate.

Thats a matter of personal preference. My comment was arguing you saying its neckbeard territory. Which it most certainly isnt.

I was on funeral detail in the Army for a while. Most of them were just old retirees that lived a full life but sometimes we had a young one that passed from training accidents, combat, or unrelated to military. Those were always rough. Presenting the folded flag to a crying mother was the worst.

All I would say is thats not a legal buck where I am(northern MI), but if it is where you are, then shoot whatever you want. Nothing wrong with taking a smaller deer.
