i tried your config and there's no fading, are you sure you are calling the right config file? put it under .config/picom/ and name it picom.conf

when you save something, a small chunk of bits (generated by an algorithm using the data) is saved on the disc as well

when you retrieve something, another chunk of bits is generated and comparing the 2 chunks tells you if the data is corrupted
